Tedster is right, it is important to not forget the limits that can get in the way of the majors one.
There are limits to the number of models the game can handle if i am not mistaken, for example. So it woud turn out pretty limited to have more units and buildings, if you can't make them work in the game because of this kind of limits.
Unfortunatly, i am not much of a modeler and these limits are unknown territories for me. The input of someone who have hitted those would be good.
Also, i am not sure that speaking numbers right away like: "x limit number to y number" is a good thing, in my opinion, it would be better to stay with "removal" for now, until CA answer something, then if necessary, starting to be more accurate with numbers.
Don't forget that the numbers quoted in Zarathos thread have been proposed by people who never saw the source code, and there is no telling what the programmers from CA could achieve in what would be probably a short time if they wanted to. That's why i think that it is better to not speak numbers at first. If the communication goes beyond: "no we won't do it", well, maybe a line will have to be drawn for some limits but until then...
Multi-core support, not sure this is the same territory as hardcoded limits, might require a lot more work.
