CTD Every time on startup, can't even get to the main menu

So.. I tried installing ss today. Got 6.3 installed smoothly and I managed to start a campaign

Then I tried installing 6.4 and I can't even get to the loading screen or the opening. I instantly got CTD every time, tried installing the bugfix but the game still isn't working

In case anyone wondering I run the game on win7, and I turned the UAC off during the installation (I still do until now) and my M2TW is patched to 1.5 (gold version)
And here's what I get from the system log

Help guys.. Anyone? Should I try reinstalling the patch?

Hi,

Unfortunately this is a known issue with the mod and sadly NO FIX or workaround exists for this issue... You're simply out of luck

Well as someone who has played SS6.4 many times, with and without sub-mods, I don't think this is a known issue that stops people from playing the game.

If the problem was common to all SS6.4 installations then none of us would be playing it.

(Which version of the main game engine are you using ?
Is it from Steam or from a boxed copy ?

I've only got the 1. 5 version, not the Steam updated version 1.5.2 ?

Same is happening to me after going from win8.1 to win10. Worked fine before on 8.1. The mod works with 6.3, just not 6.4. Installs no problem with no errors. I also have no issues with Third Age/D&C. This is with the boxed version. I do own the Steam version as well, haven't tried with that yet. Like I said...6.3 boots up no problem. As soon as I apply 6.4, set up the config and launch, it doesn't even make it to splash screens. Just CTD straight away.

I gave up on Win10 for my desktop PXC - too many system hangs etc.
I did have SS6.4 running for a while - so it should install OK.

However I reverted back to Win7 everything works perfectly again - after re-installing.

Have you done a complete re-installation of M2TW/Kingdoms - win10 omits system files you may need -
and the registry may need updating too.

Yes, I did a clean install of Win10, so also a clean install of M2TW. I decided to uninstall box version and try my Steam version. SS 6.4 works no problem. So I will just stick with the Steam version.
