Even though that battle result is complete . I feel obligated to finish this hotseat to the end and then I will be done with TATW until a mod is to come out to balance this game. A good portion of your army is archers whereas mine are mostly infantry and yet I still lose with more men, and a better general.

I mean Gimli, they are Haradian infantry. Although I don't think that result was too unreasonable. I don't usually advance unless I have at least double the force of my opponents but Harad is very bad infantry quality, especially if any of them were pikeman and Gondor has some decent/semi-strong archers.

I looked at the army and thought that Harad's couldn't be beaten. Obviously I was wrong.

Probably would've kept the army there to be honest. I was certain that we would have the advantage because A, we out number him by 4 units, have a way better general and out of his range. Obviously he was barely in-range because he is used his general to reach the army.

The remainder of Gondor's turn is completed. No other combat except a very minor battle with major strategic consequences. Mordor's lone general who left Minas Morgul to build the watchtower is attacked and defeated by Gondor's forces. With no opening inside Minas Morgul (filled with 20 units), he retreats to the square directly adjacent to the fortress. With Gondor's forces occupying the next square to the west, the defeated general's unit effectively blocks the pass. Now the forces of Good can move in with impunity! All of Gondor's armies mobilize, soon to be joined by the Rohirrim.

The outcome of this war will be decided shortly!

Theoden and the Rohirrim were filled with joy when news of the Gondorian victory reached their camp. It gave the men even more courage to meet the Haradrim in battle as soon as possible. It happens they were in luck. A Rohirrim scout unit returned to camp, accompanied by a Gondorian scout. Utbah and his forces, which the Rohirrim were tracking down, marched into our trap. Naerion already marched his armies to battle and he called upon Theoden and the Rohirrim to join him. It didn't take long for the eager Rohirrim to prepare to march out and soon they joined their brothers in battle..

Are we talking an advantage as of this turn, or from the beginning of the game? The former I would agree with, the latter not so much.

I don't mind answering. Gondor was making decent money until I move all of my units out of free upkeep this turn. But the economy is one of Gondor's strengths. Evil has strengths too, but we've played this game in a way so that you haven't been able to use them effectively. We had one element of luck with the mission awarding ships, but other than that it's just us playing well.

I won't argue with that. Economically, Good side probably does have a slight advantage. That's just one facet of the game, however.

That is true, I was editing my post constantly because I was arguing with myself, it could be better balanced but we still had a very good chance of winning. You are just better atm. Though if you hadn't have got those three ships I don't think I would be moaning as much

Ive just looked at the absence thread and seen that Gimli has resigned from all hostseats... First im hearing of this. I am happy to carry on alone and until the end if need be, but what is the official word?

My personal opinion is that I find it unacceptable to suddenly resign from all ongoing hotseats, without good reason. Especially resigning from an official tournament. I would find it unacceptable if any player did that, but considering Gimli is even GS....... makes it worse.

That being said, my official answer is that I'll urge Gimli, as some already suggested, to reconsider his decision and take up his hotseats again.

Agree 100% with Chieftain. But if Gimli won't return, then I'd say Ranger has no choice but to continue on his own, or find a replacement willing to join and become his teammate for the remainder of his participation in the Tag Team Tournament, however long that may be.
