All this help? All I got from the game was 3 Palarrans. Even without those ships, my naval recruitment would allow me to maintain naval parity with Harad (not superiority, but parity). So Harad wouldn't be able to sail up to the Anduin anyway.

And the game has given Gondor zero help against Mordor, the more powerful of the two Evil factions. I'm still doing just fine.

Edit - the Harad fort north of Umbar is captured with the help of a spy. Screenshot on request, but it was 130 men vs. 30 so no contest.

I'm still working on my turn and strategizing with my teammate. But consider this a free preview.

Imrahil has been actively seeking battle with Harad's chieftain and takes it without hesitation. Though outnumbered, his men bravely charge into battle. Gondor's archers are more heavily armoured and tougher than their southron counterparts. The swords and heavy shields of the militia outclass the spears and small shields of Harad's basic spearmen. And the Troll-men are slain by a hail of javelins from the Pelargir marines. But Harad's numbers count for something, and the battle is fierce, with heavy casualties on both sides. Finally, at the crucial moment, Imrahil gathers his remaining Swan Knights and leads them in a charge which breaks the enemy and sends the entire southron army into a rout.

FYI, not a terribly difficult battle to win in AR - at least 25% to 33% chance of victory.
