Missing Executable

Alright, I spent the entire night trying to figure this out. I installed and reinstalled Medieval II, but the message keeps popping up. I looked into the folder, and lo and behold the .exe file is missing (or is it even supposed to show up? I don't know, haven't played in months)
So what do?

Use CC Cleaner to remove all the files and then install again, and see if that helps.

If you are doing a fresh install, then I would recommend to install into a custom folder to avoid all the stress caused by the virtual store. Personally I use C:\Games for all my games (dooh). Not applicable to Steam, though.
Another possibility is an overzealous Anti Virus program that might have removed the executable on installation.
