Default Are slings vs. bows reflected historically in RS2?

    Hi there.

I've been a fan of this game for a few years now, but due to the steam crash I have not been able to play it for a while, and therefore cannot remember how slingers vs. archers are balanced in this game.

From what I have read, historically slingers had the upper hand (against all but elite bowmen) in terms of range and stopping power, but fell short in terms of grouped volleys and accuracy (It seems it generelly takes a lot more training to use a sling accurately).

How have these and other considerations been reflected in the game? I imagine for balance purposes you have most likely made some adjustments, but considering the levels of historical nerddom I believe this must also have been discussed around the modding table

Oh, and thanks for a great game by the way

Archers: Longer range, some units have more soldiers (but not all), slightly more attack
Slingers: Flat trajectory (somewhat), Armor Piercing, carries more ammo

Slingers are at 40 stones/bullets vs 25 arrows for archers.
Both types have 160 size units (Huge) but some archer units have 200 size.

I note that the elite slingers (Rhodian, Baleric) can actually shoot over wooden walls. There's also some bugs allowing slingers to just shoot through walls (especially wooden ones) in odd cases.

Though slingers have less attack, armor piercing means they almost always pull out ahead. Against low armor units, their higher ammo makes them pull ahead too. They seem better at hitting due to the flat trajectory.
