    Default Nasty battle crashes

I never get a crash during the campaign map. It's always during the Battle maps, and after a random period of time in the majority of battles the game locks up, or the screen turns totally black and then if I wait a bit I get this error:

Does anyone know what may be causing this? If not I fear I won't be able to play this game for a long time.

I get this message when I close Internet Explorer, so you should probably update windows among other things.

Ok well here are the DxDiag reports. I dont think I need to lower my settings, as it runs pretty smooth. Upward of 20-30 FPS when the field has a decent amount of units on it. I play in large mode.

I use most of the current updates for windows as well.

thats a memory error. It's highly unlikely your RAM is damaged so it's either a file system error or a corrupt pagefile.

First thing u should do is set your pagefile to 0, reboot, then change it back to what it was. That will defrag the pagefile.

The second thing to do is to run windows checkdisk to check for errors and then get yourself a proper defragging program such as diskeeper or O&O defragger (i use both) and run them to sort out your file system. Whatever you do do not use the windows "defraggers" cos it's a piece of *****.

Another thing you can do is set windows to unload all the dll files programs use when you close them. Also you should disable executive pageing. All these settings can be changed via the registry, just do a google search. Alternatively you can do it the lazy way by downloading cacheman.

    Good luck.

EDIT: download WinASO registry optimizer cos it's the most thorough registry scanning app and has a bloody excellent registry defrag feature which will structure your registry in a good order so it can be accessed faster.
