It seems like every unit can attack wooden towers, but archers. It doesn't make any sense. Using fire arrows to attack wooden structures would be the most realistic use for them.

Not sure what you're doing OP, but I can certainly target wooden towers with my archers and fire arrows.

Did you tested it with a none-modded version.? because if others say it sould work then you probably have some mods that gives conflicts..

Exactly. And you will recognize they target the tower when you click instead of the usual target you'll see the same symbol than when you target walls with artillery : a broken tower.
