Catching Up
[OOC: This is my attempt to update my characters after missing the past two weeks. This is only truly relevant to Northern and Westerlands players.]
Karstark
Caron was called onto the deck as the fleet approached King's Landing. A sight he had not seen in some months, and a welcome sight at that.
Since arriving at King's Landing a few years ago, he and his small flotilla had routinely sailed south to the Stormlands, attacking merchant shipping and staging raids on the coastline.
Whether it assisted the war effort or not, Caron didn't know. Returns to Dragonstone and King's Landing were made for supplies only, the fleet often sailing away again after a few days. On the few occasions where stays were longer, for repairs or much needed rest, Caron made no effort to find the higher command. If they wanted him, they'd find him. Now, though, the war was over.
"Bring us into the dock, helmsman." said Caron to the boy on the helm. More a man now, forged in years of warfighting at his post.
Once ashore, Caron set off to the Red Keep, intent on finding some news now.

Lefford
The war, for House Lefford, had been mostly quiet.
Raymar had returned from his foray into the Riverlands with some loot and some glory, and had rejoined the garrison at Goldentooth watching, waiting.
A battle had been fought at Nunn's Deep. The Leffords were there, fighting the Valemen and sending them packing. A rumoured offensive to follow never came, though, and the force retired behind Goldentooth once again to watch and wait.
Lord Lannister had proven himself a tyrant in his boredom. Unwilling to risk his own forces in battle, the Leffords watched as he punished Lord Crakehall for trying to strike at the Blacks where they were weakest, and recoiled in horror when he marched off to burn Castamere down because Lord Reyne had the initiative and daring to attempt to cut the Valemen off.
The Crakehalls haven't been heard from since: most say the Lord has retired to his keep in anger and disbelief. Harmund couldn't blame him.
The Reyne affair rumbled on. Castamere had been sacked, one merchant travelling east had said, great plumes of smoke visible for many miles around.
Lord Lannister, the man that cowered behind his walls, destroyed vassals for showing bravery, and surrendered his forces without a fight, was not a popular man in his own homeland.
