Default Wedding Procession to the Blackwatwer Sept, 132 AL

Starting out from the Red Keep, a procession began.
At the front was the the Queen, riding upon a horse, her colored banners leading the way, amongst the banners of Targaryen and the urban arms of the city of King's Landing.
Goldcloaks cleared the path through the city - Dragon Way, then across the King's Square to the southwest half of the Street of the Sisters, and ascending Visenya's Hill.

Behind the Black Queen came the Crown Prince Jacaerys and his bride-to-be, Cersei Lannister, followed by the rest of the Targaryen family - Aegon, Viserys, Jaehaerys and Jaehaera, though the newborn infant girl Rhaenys was in the Red Keep, being nursed while her mother went out to this royal wedding for the day.
The King consort, Daemon, was not present.

The Queensguard rode alongside the procession, protecting the royal family as was their sacred duty.

They left now from the gate of the Red Keep, descending the slope of the hill, and down the street of the Dragon's Way..

Lord Royce stands out among the crowd his ancient bronze armor complementing his gold cloak. The Goldcloaks were out in force every single man Yorwyck could arm formed rows guarding the entire procession route, however it was few compared to the crowds surrounding them. The whole city was on edge, and Yorwyck would do his duty to see the Royal family safe. It was said the Queen's Guard was the force that protected the royal family but in truth it was the Goldcloaks that kept the peace in the city and had the numbers to truly protect them. As respectable as the Goldcloaks were 7 men could never hold of a mob.

Ser Armand Arryn stood guard, glancing from side to side, ever keen to neutralize threats.

Brandon was there to guard the sodding royals as well, they'd tried to get him to wear their damned armor but it the made his skin itch. He didn't need it anyways, his ancestors protected him.. though would they be able to do that this far south? His ancient bronze axes with their bones handles hung at his hips, like two great crude cudgels with a metallic shine. He wanted a fight, his bones called for it.. his blood burned for it. He could smell it on the air, it was coming.. exactly what it was remained a mystery, but it was coming. He looked more like a savage or a guard dog than a white knight, but he didn't care he wasn't here to look pretty he was here to do a job.

The aged skin of Corlys Velaryon walked slowly with procession, not quite sure if he was enjoying the new found peace.

Raymund Tarly walked next to the Royal Family, with his new armor, donning the white cloak with pride, it was made of silk and held in place by a golden pin in the shape of a bundle of arrows. He now stood as one of the Queensguards, the best swords of the realm, the sworn protectors of the royal family. That day Raymund felt like a true heroe, like those whose stories were depicted in every song from the North to Dorne. However, he was watchful, the murder of Darklyn made clear that the situation was dangerous. His hand rested on the sword pommel, and he kept a close watch over the royals in the procession.

The crowd begins to press in around them. Silently at first, but a growing number of them begin to hiss and jeer. Someone throws some rotten fruit from somewhere, hitting Tarly in the chestplate. Prince Jacaerys and his new wife are in the middle of the procession, flanked by the Queensguard and half a dozen Goldcloaks.

The vision of the white plate stained by the rotten fruit made his blood boil in anger. His gaze scanned the crowd, trying to find a culprit. The crowd was pressing the royal procession, their lines were strained. The Goldcloaks were far too few to oppose the populace. Tarly commands the guardsmen to be watchful and ready. And then turns to the crowd. His right hand firmly around the sword's hilt. He braced his shield, made of oak with a steel edge, painted plain white. His white armor shone under the sun like polished bone.

"Step back! People of King's Landing, step back!"

    He roared.

Vortimer pushed his way to the front of the crowd, watching the procession carefully. The mood of the smallfolk was hostile, he knew, and the tension was so thick you could cut through it with a knife. Chaos was bubbling at the surface, and soon the bubble would burst.

    "Too few of them."
He said, to nobody in particular, prompting a few to glance at him. Vortimer watched as the Realm's Delight rode towards them, along with the pretty Lannister girl and half a dozen other lords. It would be a crying shame to watch her get ed by half of King's Landing, but that is what would happen if she wasn't cut down first.

Armand grasped the pommel of his sword, scanning the crowd. Seven hells. The crowd was closing in about them. As de facto Lord Commander he felt he should do something. "Stay back!" he commanded to the crowd. "Queensguard! Protect the Queen!" He drew in about the Queen, raising his shield to protect her from projectiles. A second rotten vegetable hit the Prince on the side of his head. The crowd grew louder, beginning to press in about them. "I SAID STAY BACK!" Armand shouted as he drew his sword, prompting the others to do the same. THe Goldcloaks leveled their spears.

    ----

Meanwhile Lucian, who was in the back of the procession near Corlys, whispered to the man "This is about to get ugly. We should return to the Red Keep and fetch my personal guard. One hundred armored knights might be able to disperse this rabble."

Yorwyck cursed silently. They should have never done this not while the city was on edge as it is. Hopefully the Goldcloaks would refrain from using the short swords on their hip because once the first blood was shed their would be no stopping this mob. Seven hells they really should make their way back to the Red Keep.

Vortimer tutted as he shook his head. This was going to get ugly, and unless they forced their way through their was only one way it was going to end.

"I'll take the pretty blonde one." He heard one man say.
" off whoreson, she's mine." One replied.

"There's plenty to go round, don't worry." Another said, and licked his lips. Vortimer merely watched with a grimace. Fruit had been hurled at the crown prince, and now it looked as if the crowd were baying for blood. Still, Vortimer stayed, his arms folded. Perhaps there was something to gain from this.

    "Stay back!"

Tarly advanced towards Arryn and with his fellow brothers formed a circle around the Queen.

    "Protect the Queen!"

His shield raised to protect her Grace. He turned to Arryn.

"We must advance and take shelter at the sept. Holy ground. We cannot come back, the crowd has blocked our way back to the keep. With Prince Daemon away the populace isn't afraid of the consequences"

He said through the slit of his white helmet. He was prepared for the worst.

Corlys turned to Lucian, nodding at his words - he however was not going to leave the Queen. "You go and fetch them, and tell the captain of my guard to bring my men as well, I'll stay here with the Queen. We don't want to make the situation worse by turning this into a slaughter, hopefully your men and my heavy infantry will be able to just scare them off." His hand tightened around his blade, itching in anticipation.

Lucian turned to Tarly "Aye, the smallfolk should respect the Sept. But there's a few of them to get through before we get there. It won't be long before the Goldcloaks of my father's men come to make safe the sept." More food began to fly, this time with some stones in the mix. Something heavy thudded against Armand's shield. "It is time to move, defend the Queen!"

The crowd began to press in earnest, some men throwing themselves against the shieldwall. Some carried flaying knives, hammers, any number of crude instruments or weapons. Stones began to fall along with filth on the procession. A goldcloak thrust his spear though one of the crowd. Along the entire line some of the peasants drew back, others seemed emboldened. The shouting grew to a loud din.

"Seven hells! It is too late now! Push forward!" Armand locked shields with the other Queensguard present and pushed forward, his sword flicking out to bring death to any who stood in their way. They were making good progress, but several men fell victim to the mob. He checked every now and then to see if the Queen was following them.

ooc: Because Velasco is awol Jace's movements will be moderator controlled. Furthermore death rolls here will be done as if it were a battle. This means there's a much higher chance of injury as opposed to death. Certain modifiers may be added one way or another, but nothing drastic. A 5/20 chance of death will probably be the highest it ever goes and only under extraordinary circumstances.

    ------

Jacaerys and his wife began to hustle along with the guards in the directions of the sept. He was dressed for a wedding but still carried his sword, which he drew to protect hi sfamily.

    -----

Separated from the front end of the group, Lucian likewise drew his sword. "They seem to be targetting the royal family!" he cried. "We must fight our way back to the Red Keep and bring aid!" Alhough most of the mob seemed to be rushing past them to get to the royals, several men tried their luck with the rear. Lucian dispatched two me with daggers. "Corlys, we cannot linger!" (and whoever else is in the rear)

Corlys spat out a curse, noticing that what Lucian said was true, getting through to Rhaenyra would be a struggle and take time they didn't have. Drawing his sword he snarled, trying to create a pocket of space by scaring off some of the peasants. He nodded at Lucian, "Very well, lead the way Lord Hand - lets show them what us oldies can do."

The sight of blood excited the crowd even more, who roared in anger, pressing the attack. A goldcloak fell, a knife through his eye, bleeding profusely. He was torn by the mob, one raising in triumph his head which sported a terrified grim. Tarly raised his shield and locked it in a shieldwall with Arryn's.

    "Protect the Queen! Advance!"

Tarlys unsheathed his longsword and stated to deliver blows, cutting hands, arms and heads with ease, carving a bloody path for her Grace. The white armor soon covered in blood and guts, its purity lost in the bloodbath that ensued. Tarly was a merciless mauler and killed or maimed everyone who dared to oppose him. No mercy was given, not even to women.

"To the Queen! Fight men of the Queensguard! Fight for the Queen! Protect the Royal Family!"

The sept seemed to be so far away...

"We have to save the young princes, Arryn"

Yorwyck curses that bloody man had to stab one of them. Untrained rabble that's all these Goldcloaks were.
"Pull back protect the Royals." Yorwyck calls drawing his sword. It was normal steel and felt heavy in his hand compared to the Valyrian Steel blade.
Goldcloaks begin to surround the Royal family the ones that had been holding the crowd back falling back a few paces and drawing short swords.

With a grimace, Vortimer watched as the peasants grew bolder, pulling Goldcloaks from the royal procession and brutalizing them. He did not join in, however, and kept his hand on the hilt of his sword as he kept close by, pushing through the crowds to keep up with the procession. They'll struggle to get to the Sept. He thought, but he knew it was the only course of action they had. Smallfolk were everywhere, barring every side passage and alleyway that they might escape down.

Jaehaera stayed close to her brother as a struggle ensued between their protectors and riotous peasants. Jaehaerys held her hand calmly, shielding her the best he could. His eyes were looking around, looking for Aegon and Viserys. If they stayed close to their Royal cousins, Jaehaerys felt they would be safe. He moves through the guards, searching for Aegon the Younger and Viserys who had vanished when the rioting began to break out.
