Why not host the hypothetical badge competition as a Graphics Competition and give a competition point among other rewards?

Now you're just stealing my ideas huh. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...ge-Competition
If we want someone to redo all of the badges, there are 21 in total they'd have to do. Or would this just be a competition for different styles?

I'm not thinking it has to be a regular monthly competition but could be a special parallel event. I don't have access to the last Rome 2 badge competition thread but iirc it had exact conditions/rules, awards, voting and submission durations set by Hex, so it would have to be co-ordinated with them.

    EDIT:
    @Caligula
I didn't even remeber your little thread. The idea of a community badge competition isn't new. There was a badge competition to find the most popular Rome 2 style badges before you had even registered to the site, and that time it wasn't tied with the GW but I think it would be a chance get some more attention to this place.

^^ The current one were done and chosen that way
I think that we can easily organise something beside the monthly competitions. Anyway, I honestly don't mind to use one or the other option.

The current set of badges was designated as the winning set following a site competition back in 2013. The reward was the Artist award.

Yes, I remember that. Maybe there was also rep awarded? But I think a graphics competition in essence could have also given a Graphics Competition point.

    Yes, you're right Thrax
It was 50 rep and the Artist Award for the winner.
Btw, do you want yours back? You were the winner back in 2013 after all

I didn't get any ''official'' rep points iirc. Nope, I don't want any medals back.

Admins often give rep rewards anonymously and without commenting for what it was at least in my experience.

I choose them above the compromise you put up because IMHO the compromise is a mix of 2 styles and that does not work well together IMHO

    Here is my concept badge

The coin would look more like a medallion. In the center would be an image of a Chinese official representing each of the positions.
Depending on the badge, it will have either two, three or four characters. First left to right, left, top right, then a left top, bottom, right.
Staff would be a different color "medallion" than Curia positions increasing the difference between the two groups.

The badge itself would look like old Chinese scrolls.

I am not graphically inclined, so I am willing to partner up with any graphically superior individual. I don't care about an award, just the realization of my vision.

    -----
Note: My Chinese Characters are based mostly on the Song Dynasty. My wife had a hard time finding information about the Three Kingdom. There weren't enough ways to differentiate the Characters. I didn't go for a modern translation of the words. For example, I chose the chief engineer of the Emperor for Technical Staff and the High Priest (Monk) for Censor. Some more literal, like Artist and Citizen.
Here there are for the community
Hexagon Council (Administration): 丞相 | 行政
The second one is administration. The first is the left and right hand of the Emperor.
    Moderator: 刑部尚书
Police. I had time explaining this to my wife, but Police is what is supposed to be.
    Technical Staff: 将作大匠
Chief engineer of the Emperor for Technical Staff. Technically, this is the title of the person in charge of that department.
    Modding (Modification) Staff: 将作监
The title beneath that of the Technical Staff. IF APPROVED.
    Tribune (Judge): 知府
    Magistrate (Judge): 知县
Both mean judges. The Tribune is supposed to be a higher level.
    Content Staff: 卿大夫
    Content Director: 太史
    Scribes, different levels
    Content Artists: 画家
    Artist
    Gaming Staff: 礼部侍郎
    Gaming Director: 礼部尚书
The title in charge of the department for festivals. | Different levels.
    Curator: 御史
    Censor (Judge): 住持
Both refer to the person responsible for the temple. The Curator is the person responsible for ensuring everything gets done.
    Citizen: 黎民
    Citizen or common person
    Civitates: 市井
Tricky. I chose Merchant, but in Asian culture, they are not the highly regarded. I might ask for a Warrior one instead.
    Artifex (Builder): 匠师
    Builder, stone worker
    Patrician (Nobleman): 地主
A landowner who does not work his own land

So with the flurry of badge making, why not Thrones of Britannia? I would like to see some badges made, moderator, citizen, civitate etc, using these chaps, on the plates we have now in slightly medieval
    or Gothic font please.

Thrones of Britannia is just a "Saga" title. Based on what I understand we are going to get a lot more "Saga" games than "main title games, like Rome II and Three Kingdom game due to come out. In fact, I expect that they will be several add-on DLCs for three Kingdom. I suspect the "Saga" games will be of different eras to keep the entirety of the fanbase happy while they fully flush out the Three Kingdom/ China.

I know this has been mentioned before, but are we going to retain the latin member terms, or try and find a chinese equivalent?

Do you mean stuff like "Civitae" in the badge, or the post count ranks such as Vicarius? http://www.twcenter.net/wiki/TWC:FAQ#Post_Count_Ranks
I'd imagine we're going to make Chinese themed ones, just need someone to come up with ideas (but hopefully anglicized so they can actually be understood)
