    Default SweetFX issues question

Hello, I'm having issues running the SweetFX shader injector with Medieval 2 and I was wondering if anybody could provide some help. I use SweetFX regularly with other games and it works flawlessly, but in Medieval 2 I get the following problems when I use it:

    1. Menus are VERY sluggish
    2. Loading times are drastically increased
    3. The campaign map is ridiculously laggy and moving it is impossible

However, battles work absolutely fine and SweetFX runs great, and looks great in them.

I posted myself, and have seen a lot of people posting about these same issues in the GEM graphics mod thread, which uses SweetFX. I tried some of the recommendations posted in it with no success. I'm running Medieval 2 Kingdoms with the latest patch on a 64-bit Win 7 PC. I have the latest beta drivers for my AMD card, and even tried rolling back to the stable version to no effect.

    Thanks for any help provided.

I had the same issue when I was playing mods for M2TW: Kingdoms. For me the solution was to get the Steam version of the game, for some reason the G.E.M and the sweetfx settings lag when playing the game from your DVD/CD.
    hope it helps.

Thanks for the help. I had no idea I could activate my CD-key on Steam from physical copies of games.

It's only recently that this is possible.
