Its just depressing to me at this point.
Only GamesWorkshop could take something like this
and turn it into this.
So if you got a deamon prince of Tzeench, on turn 1 you can summon another daemon prince, then on turn 2 those two can summon two more...
Perhaps the game ending on two turns is a good thing then.
In what I can only assume is a desperate bid to get more people buying the models, Games workshop is removing the very very adult themed God of depravity and pleasure, Slaanesh, from the lore and the models.

Essentially they are going to kill off one of the coolest chaos gods in order to make future models more child friendly, in essence screwing over old fans in favor of getting new, younger, customers.
In all fairness, Slaanesh was the Lord of Lust, and how can he exist if there is no love for the new edition?
Answer me that. HA!
It says 'may get rid of slaanesh' in the article you posted.
It says 'may' but in all likelihood they 'will', I can see their logic for doing so, but it's just going to make the whole thing that much more generic and forgettable.
I don't play the table top game, never had, never will but I am a devout follower of the lore and have many, many, many MANY warhammer fantasy novels which I love. But I can promise you I will not buy any novels for this Age of Sigmarines crap!
I guess Slaanesh hangs out with Malal now-
two down three to go.
Seriously though; I usually roll my eyes when someone claims "X tries to cater to the children" but if this is true then thats just effing pathetic.
Oh no, boobies, better wipe out a huge part of the lore!

Slaanesh is the worst of the mayor gods anyways, a feeble attempt to get the number 4 (cuz 4 horsemen of the apocalypse), but avoiding the issue that "death" has no chaos deity, its more necromantic .
Slaanesh followers were essentially like followers of dionisios on hevy drugs. Now tell me why people who like to all day on cocaine would ever built an army? Or people who like to eat all day long (pleasure has a variaety of forms). Even going down the massochism road only get you that far. Story-wise it was really poor to fit everything into slaanesh.
You could also argue the other way around, and even say that every chaos follower depicted in rhe WH lore is a follower of slaanesh, because they enjoy what they do. It's not like in WH lore they go out and kill people cuz they think that would make a better world and someone gotta do something. They do it cuz they're evil, and take pleasure from it. So, slaanesh.
It's the problem of having a lore that treats morals and ethics with the depth of a diner table.
Anyways... who gives a single ? AoS appeals to a young public that gets easily seduced by sigmarines and big monsters. It's not like the 4 page rules take time to learn and understand, it's not like the game has now anything to do with tactics or wargaming (sigh).
I dropped oldhammer like 6-7 years ago, because it was way out of my budget (anx it gets tiresome to play with paper bases). I never planned to come back, and now even less so. I'm thrilled about TW:WH cuz it lets me revive a piece of my past long lost to me, thats all
I think the Slaanesh is far too quickly written off but there is far more to it than people give it credit for. I know if my friends are trying to explain it to a new player they will just say "oh there is also Slaanesh; the god of porn" and somehow this superficial image has stuck. I would recommend listening to Arch Warhammer's excellent video explaining chaos in a bit more depth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJte34jjXf0 The bit about Slaanesh is at 14:00.
So first of all, not all the followers of Slaanesh would form an army, I doubt that the influence of Slaanesh spreads much through force of arms but for the purposes of a table top war game this is not relevant. Secondly, the followers seem to be always chasing an ever more elusive high. The heavy drugs that you mention won't be enough for long which forces greater and more extreme depravity.
My third point is that chaos is not mutually exclusive. If some random guy enjoys fighting so they go out and beat someone to death then Khorne would draw power from it because of the anger and blood letting. Slaanesh would draw power from it because of the pleasure and Tzeentch would benefit slightly from the change. Now this guy might not be a chaos worshiper, but chaos still benefits. Now this act might catch the attention of the gods and Slaanesh might encourage him to take a bit more pleasure in more extreme violence and Khorne might encourage more bloodletting but not really for the sake of pleasure. Or maybe Nurgle will give him the pox because he wants to curtail the power of the other gods. The whole thing can become pretty complex and this is a straight forward example.
Anyway I hate the direction GW have taken the warhammer franchise with the age of sigmar and am no longer invested in their product so I suppose it doesn't matter what I think about Slaanesh.
I hope that makes some kind of sense.
Should have just used actual space marines. The Sigmarmarine models are hideous. At least those Khorne guys can be used for nice conversions for my 40k army.
If Slaanesh could be in Powerpuff Girls then I think he can be in AoS
Time to rebrand, eh?
Slaanesh, now PG13. Radical!
Looks like the original noise marines are making a comeback.
But seriously, GW really removed Slaanesh from the pantheon of chaos gods and replaced him/her/it with... someone or something?
Its not a rune I recognise.
Awww that Slaaanesh conversion made me remember the old days
Really liked the colorful "Guitar Heroes" Noise Marines idea in 40k 2nd edition.
But even in the old days, they had the need to replace models with "new" ones

until everything iconic is no more

That symbol might be related to skaven. Seeing slaanesh disappear would suck.
But the horned Rat allready has a symbol, and its awesome; why would they pointlessly change that?
