Scientists in Jerusalem have created a robot the size of a hornet that is able to chase, photograph, and potentially kill its targets, an Israeli newspaper reported today.
According to Reuters, the tiny-flying robot - which scientists refer to as the "bionic hornet" - is able to navigate its way through narrow streets to target enemies which are otherwise unreachable.
Scientists have also developed super gloves - which would give a person have bionic strength - and miniature sensors that can detect suicide bombers.
Their research uses nanotechnology to find creative solutions to problems the Israeli army has been unable to solve.
The 34-day war in Lebanon killed more than 1,200 people ending with a U.N.-brokered ceasefire in August.
Scientists estimated prototypes for the new weapons will be ready within three years.
