From Harrenhal the armies of House Umber move southward into the Reach. Their first stop are the edges of Lord Footly's domain, lands known to be friendly to the Black cause, from whence they might strike out at their neighbours.

The Lady Darla gave the charred ruin of Harrenhal one good, final look before turning her body around and pointing her longsword forward.

"Onwards men!"

She exchanged a look with her sisters and added.

"And women!"

The progress southward was a slow one, the Northmen moving uncertainly through unknown terrain with the help of guides and maps...whose efforts, however strenuous, were not quite on par with first hand knowledge of a land's every nook and cranny. The imposing catapult they had brought from Last Hearth little aided them in the velocity department; it would, nevertheless, be of use in future, at least so said the one who manned it. For now, however, it was an unfortunate encumberance as they crossed the numerous streams and harsh thickets which marked these lands.

At the brief war council they had held at Harrenhal, the Lady Darla and her commanders had decided to strike out directly south for Harpshire, on the fringes of Lord Footly of Tumbleton's domains. The Greens had assaulted Tumbleton, securing the Rose Road in the process, but Harpshire had been left untouched, no doubt being deemed too unimportant for the Greens to spend men and time wresting from the Black alliance. The local lord was the head of House Orme, but he was like to offer little or no assistance (assuming the man yet lived), having already bled his own lands fighting in Footly's catastrophic stand against the Tyrell onslaught. All the same, the lands were strategically placed, allowing for clear movement into the very heart of the Reach, the breadbasket of Westeros.

So long as they could pass by undetected, loot at least would not be lacking.

The armies of Lady Darla Umber arrive at last on the outskirts of the Ring, seat of House Roxton, Green loyalists.

9237 Northmen and mercenaries make ready to take on the native garrison, who are outnumbered 20:1.

Construction of Siege Towers begins immediately.

OOC: For me, the folks at Harrenhal (5-6 hexes away) and King's Landing, and for the Roxtons the Tyrell army at Highgarden.

Despite the successful escape of the ravens, a rather large portion of the garrison do not desire to meet their deaths at the end of an Umber blade. Therefore, after a short period of squabbling, the loyalist section of the garrison is disarmed, and the gates of the Ring slowly open. Those still loyal to House Roxton are escorted out at spear point by the other members of the garrison, and all of them lay their weapons before the northern host.

OOC: Are any of the Roxtons captured? There are 3 signed up characters, but as far as I can see none were sent out to fight. I'd assume the one with the best +Battles would be marching and the others home, but your call.

OOC: I'm not sure, he's been pretty inactive as of late. For simplicity's sake lets just say all the male characters are with the levy, and any female characters they signed up are here along with a castellan.

You can sack it, yes, if you so choose. I would advise that the army waits for six hours as if they had just fought a battle.

EDIT: Actually, scratch all that, just been told that a castle doesn't surrender if its got a chance of relief. So because the ravens got away, the ring holds out.

Garrison doesn't surrender, as there is a chance of relief from Highgarden. The gates are barred, and the soldiers taunt the Umber men (and women)

Lady Darla informs the rider she will finish securing this keep and ride south on the morrow, catapult and all. He is informed to tell her husband that she might be...late.

OOC: I actually think your rider would arrive post-storming, but I didn't want to assume I've captured the place before I actually capture the place.

The Storming of the Ring Fortress:

The Ring is taken and all defenders are killed to the last man. However, they put up a stout defense and 3% of all attackers are killed during the attack.
