Siege of Riverrun

The Stormlander host arrived unnoticed to the Tully's seat. The castle however was defended by a larger force than expected and Caron had to lay siege, trenches dug and war machines prepared, readying his troops for an assault against the Riverlander fortress. Caron commanded the light cavalry to screen the stormlander camp and their backs, in a case a Riverlander host came in Riverrun's rescue, so that they wouldn't take the Stormlords by surprise. A relief force was expected...

Seeing the large force arriveing nearby Riverrun, the troops readied themselves under command of Ser Wallace Troutmoore, an unlanded knight, but at least experienced enough to be appointed as castellan-in-meantime by Lord Regent Vance's absence to defend the keep. He looked unimpressed upon the men before him, who tried to siege the castle.
"Now you come?", the soldier shouted across the river distance towards Caron's man, "You are late, Green Commander. Young Lord Tully is safe from you and your foes and your men are encircled by our armies - there is nothing of worth for you apart from death."
I assume you came with terms - of how to surrender to you?"

OOC: Just in case any arguing is made, I checked the time stamps of your armies.

By Oz's orders, the Stormlanders arrived four hours ahead of Vance's host. So the Stormlanders would not know a Riverlander host was approaching Riverrun nor that the Riverlanders knew that a Stormlander host was approaching the seat of House Tully. A nice surprise deployment for both sides.

Just wanted to make sure that was clear before continuing.

ooc: I have 8,000 archers, that might be important for ravens rolls.

Lord Caron rode towards the walls in his armored horse and under the quartered banners that were his heraldry.

"Surrender or die. I came not for Tully, but for his castle. They boy may hide himself under someone's roof, but he'll lose his. Spare me of killing you, soldier. If you force me to a siege I will storm your castle. But if you surrender you'll be spared and leave this place unharmed, carrying your own swords and under your own banners, accompanied by whom you think fit, be your bedwarmer, your squire or your son. Result: 1, the ravens manage to escape the archers and fly with the news they bore from Riverrun to the rest of the Riverlords. The whole of the Riverlands is warned of the imminent danger befalling Riverrun.

In fact, due the nature of it being a nat 1, the ravens peck at the archers and squawk at them as a taunt

Even if I die, it will be satisfying to know that we held out long and loyal enough, so you and your vermin gets purged by House Tully's forces, before you are able to do anything. Better flee back to the Stormlands and hope for our House's mercy than ruining your noble reputation on conquering Stone and Blood. You can't even hold this place, unless you are a madman."
The soldiers around him laughed upon the imagery of the petty Stormlander lord thinking to capture and hold a castle without becomeing a prisoner on his own.

OOC: Armies can converge and become super armies for battle. The 25k cap is only set for when you are marching and positioning armies for long periods of time. For battle, the caps are disregarded.

Caron rode away. He turned to one of his men.

"Who were responsible of shooting down the ravens?"

"Ser Gyles Storm and Alester Wyde, a third cousin of Lord Wyde"

"Also, raid and burn the lands around Riverrun. But first gather all that can be eaten, we'll need supplies. Put to the sword everyone willing to defend their home. Without exceptions, and then bring me their heads, we'll send the riverlanders a present. Respect the septs, however, we're no heathens"

Caron pointed to the keep.

"And I don't need that intact, start bombarding it as soon as possible. Use fire to brun everything made of wood"

Soon after the crosses were erected. Caron had no ears for their pleas of mercy. Ineptitude was punished when due. And fire started ravaging the Tully's lands...

OOC: I think LD moved the Riverland army and Darry host to Riverrun from Harrenhal. The other army at Pinkmaiden is still there.

OOC You mean the Rivermen army(Darry + Vance)? The Northmen are no where near Riverrun to my knowledge.

OOC: HB, the only armies present at this battle would be Oz's host and the Rivermen army commanded by Darry and Vance. The Northern Army advanced south, not towards Riverrun.
