The Lion of Lys was born some four decades ago in the Free City of Lys, where his father Ser Rowan had gone to seek fame and fortune. Ser Rowan served many years as a mercenary in the Disputed Lands, later spending much of what he gained in failed attempts to spearhead his own mercenary company. The fabled name of Lannister carried less weight across the sea than back home, so when Ser Rowan finally expired in drunken penury his widow and children hastened across the Narrow Sea.

Lady Taena died soon after their arrival in the Westerlands, but the capable service of her sons Tyrion the Tall (85-119) and Long Lancel (86-128) provided for her younger children. Raised in the Red Faith by their mother, these siblings formally converted to the Faith of the Seven (or rather, affected a lifelong participation in the same) upon their arrival in Westeros. The third son, however, was more steadfast in his face and retraced his father's steps to the Disputed Lands in his youth. He returned when Tyrion died, learning to keep his thoughts to himself and acclimatize to his surroundings.

Now, as the dragons dance, years of leal service at Casterly Rock have paid off and Galbert has been appointed to a position of military command on the border with the Riverlands. Though Riverspring is no great seat, it is a promotion all the same, for now Galbert presides over his own hall and household. Unmarried, his sister Cersei serves as lady of his hearth, leading many to whisper...

Unwavering in his loyalty to the greater lions of the Rock, the silent and brooding Galbert is relishing the opportunity to satiate his bloodlust against the damned Riverfolk.
