Default Chambers of Walys Mooton, Master of Coin

Appointed by Daemon Targaryen in name of his wife, Queen Rhaenyra.

This is the office of the master of Coin, now in hands of Lord Walys Mooton of Maidenpool.

    Lord Walys Mooton

Lord Walys Mooton inherited his power from his grandfather, Lord Larys Mooton. His parents had died when he and his siblings were still relatively young in a wheelhouse robbery that went wrong on their way to Kings Landing. This accident drew Walys and his three surviving siblings close in life. They bounded stronger in their grief and sought support with each other for the rest of their lives. Before becoming a lord, Walys was a ward to lord Tully and later squired for his Darklyn kin at Duskendale. He is a rational man, a man of actions.
    Age: 25 (in 129 AL)
Skills: 7 points: +2 Battle, +2 Survival, +1 Duel, +2 Wealth, +1 Charm (Lordship bonus)

"Ah, lord Commander. Please join me." Walys said when the man was given entrance to the room. "I just opened a bottle of Dornish Red. Quite spicy."

Yorwyck takes a seat across from Wyls accepting a cup of wine. "Lord Mooton," he says, "We have much to discuss. First I need money from the Royal treasury to fund the rebuilding of the city watch."

Lord Walys smiled. "Of course you do." He also took a cup of wine for himself. "How much do you estimate the costs will be of rebuilding the watch?"

"20,000 Dragons initially after that 8,000 dragons a year should cover the maintenance," he says taking another sip of wine.

The colossal Lord Alan Tarly, more than seven feet tall, arrived to Mooton's chambers. The red giant of Tarly, the head of the Black loyalists in the Reach, victor over Hightower and Lord of Horn Hill.

Walys stood behind his desk when Alan Tarly arrived. Walys made a little bow. "Lord Tarly, the hero of the Reach. How can I be of service to you."

Lord Tarly sat, with his long legs crossed before him. His mere presence filled the room both in metaphorical and physical way, the was like a background noise when Tarly appeared somewhere, his booming voice, his colossal height even his breath...

"You can help me by helping me continuing my line, Lord Mooton. My son is still unmarried and I've heard that one of your sisters is equally lacking a husband. I propose you a marriage between my son, Ser Garlan Tarly and your unwed sister. I think that would be a most fitting match, doesn't it?"

Heartsbane rested on an adorned scabbard, hanging from its owner hips.

Walys was not a man easily intimidated. But here he sat with a victorious commander who could also have been a legendary giant from behind-the-wall. He had to admit to himself, he was slightly intimidated.

"Don't mind asking me, lord Tarly. But why a lady of my house? I am sure there are plenty of maidens in the Reach who would be honoured to become lady of Horn hill."

"Most of them are supporters of the short-lived Usurper! That accursed idiot!"

He slammed the table with his fit.

"They are traitors and I won't mingle my blood with them. Mootons, on the other hand, are loyal to the one and true Queen, of an old and royal lineage and one of the greatest houses of the Riverlands. That weights heavily on your favor, Lord Walys. The ties between the Blacks must be enforced, deepened!"

A smile turned on his face. He liked what he heard, what he saw. "Very good, very well!" he decided. "Your son may come to court her. I give consent to the match. It would be a grand match; an honour for house Mooton and in favour of the Black-alliance. May I offer you some wine, or ale perhaps?"

    "Good, good!"

He caressed his hands. One finger was missing, likely a war wound.

    "Wine, not watered. Wine"
