Making selected troops brighter like in RTW

I remember in RTW, when you disabled arrow markers and banners, you could still see which unit you were selecting, because the troops in that unit would become a little bit brighter than the others.

It doesnt look like this is enabled in M2TW. This makes it hard (or almost impossible for me) to play without arrow markers and/or banners on. Does anyone know if you can enable unit brightness of some sort?
