    Character
    Jaime Baird

    Sellsword Captain of the Last

    Background
For many years the Last has been the hereditary mercenary company of the Baird family. Initially of Northman origins, the family fell from grace and into misfortune almost a century ago. Jaime's great-grandfather took what was left of his diminished house across the narrow sea to Essos, where they sought their fortune and fame. It was fortune and fame that Daven Baird found and he built a veritable mercenary empire that, for a time at least, seemed unassailable.

Eventually this mercenary empire found its way into the hands of Kevan Baird, grandson of Daven and father to Jaime, who seemed every bit as capable as his forebears as Captain of the Last. Things seemed to be getting better and better for the Last, in the hands of Daven and his sons their pockets filled with gold beyond counting. That was until a nasty little war broke out in Slavers Bay, with Yunkai and Mereen at each others throats, the Last found themselves first contracted and then crushed. The war cost the Last much by the time peace was finally brokered, Daven and the majority of his sons lay dead, the company itself a shattered force.

Jaime, the last surviving Baird, gathered what he could of his remaining forces and retraced his great-grandfathers steps back across the narrow sea and into Westeros. There was little left in Essos for him and the company. Besides, the political climate of the Seven Kingdoms made it a very lucrative prospect. Showing the same flair for command as his ancestors, Jaime hoped he could rebuild what his family had lost and perhaps make a tidy profit in the meantime.

    Jaime Baird Age- 22
    Battles- 4
    Duels- 2
    Survival- 2

    Family Tytos Baird
    Age- 2
    Jaime's newborn son

    Anna Baird

    Jaime's wife, died during childbirth

    "Bolt"

    Jaime's right-hand man

    Background
Few know where "Bolt" came from and even fewer would have the guts to ask, this hulking brute is Jaime's best fighter and loyal to the Baird family without question. He serves as the Sellswords right-hand man and helps command the forces of the Last. Vicious is too kind a word to describe this man and anyone looking to pick a fight with Jaime is picking a fight with him...

    Bolt Age- 37
    Duels- 3
    Survival- 3
    Assassin- 2
    Joust- 1

    "Silk"

    Agent of the Last
    Background
At times brute force doesn't always win out and the Last is, more-so than many other mercenary companies, painfully aware of that fact. "Silk", however, is Jaime's answer to that problem, Recruited by Daven Baird and raised alongside Jaime's older brothers, "Silk" always found that his skillset leaned more towards subterfuge than to any strength of arms. As a result of this the man has grown to be a shadowy character, family to Jaime through his upbringing and member of the Last since he first gripped his daggers, "Silk" is able to accomplish what others in the company cannot.
    Silk Age- 31
    Assassin- 2
    Survival- 3
    Capture- 3

A messenger arrives from Westeros in the livery of the Lannisters of Lannisport enquiring about the cost of hiring the group.

The messenger was greeted by two armoured men,

    "What business have you here?"

Came the voice from behind the visor of the first guard, who placed a hand on his sword to indicate that a wrong answer here would not go down well...

"What other business could I have? I wish to speak with your captain about a contract."

    The guard shrugged,

"Better to be safe than sorry,"

he muttered before turning to his companion,

"run ahead and tell Jaime someone wants to talk money."

he lifted his visor revealing a brutally scarred face,

"Now if you'll follow me mi'Lord"

he turned and walked through the camp towards the command tent.

The man was led through the bustling mercenary camp to a large tent in the center. The guard who led the messenger spoke briefly with two others who stood outside the command tent before they allowed them through. Inside the tent a young man lounged in front of a large table, as the messenger entered he rose and moved forward to greet him, gripping his hand warmly,

    "Good afternoon,"

    the man spoke courteously,

"I am Jaime Baird, leader of this fine group of men. I hear you've come to talk business? Please take a seat."

He gestured to an armchair before moving across to a small table and lifting the top off a small decanter,

    "Wine?"

Jaime asked the messenger as he poured a glass for himself

Jaime filled another glass before stoppering the decanter, he handed the man his drink before sitting down opposite him,

    "I am no Lord,"

    the mercenary smiled,

"Merely an honest man looking to make an honest profit... Would I be right in saying that you could help me with that goal?"

    Jaime smiled,

"I have nine hundred men altogether. Three hundred Black riders (elite cavalry), three hundred Bloody blades (elite infantry) and three hundred Farsights (longbowmen). I can hire out my entire force to you, or whichever regiments you choose."

"That would depend on the cost."

"Three years and I believe the purpose would be defending the Westerlands with perhaps some raiding in the Riverlands."

"What price would you offer for this job? Also tell me, do you consider it Low risk or High risk, as that will affect the price and the conditions of contract."

"Low risk. They will be part of a great host and fighting defensively defending passes and the like. 15,000 Dragons per year seems fair."

    "Low risk then?"

    Jaime thought for a moment,

"Very well then, 15,000 dragons a year; however for each man that falls you shall pay half his recruitment costs. Thirty-three dragons per Black rider, Twenty dragons per Bloody blade and twelve and a half dragons for each Farsight. Those are the terms of a low risk contract. First years pay up front and each years after should be paid on time and directly to me. I lead my men into battle directly and in signing this contract my men and I are yours for a three year period exactly unless payment is failed, in which case the contract is broken."

"Hard terms but I am sure my Lord will be satisfied. When can you be in Casterly Rock?"
