suddenly too easy?

I've been playing the 8.1 version on VH VH and it used to be extremely difficult at the start of the campaigns as thrace etc. Bu now that i've established a good foothold and im raking in the money every single battle is a joke!

I simply build 10 units of my heaviest troops and with a good general i can't lose any battles against anyone it doesn't make sense!
I've cleared the entire roman armies off the map by just charging falxman against them and they ALL turn and run now. theres no strategy left its just charge and then mop up. im taking on all sorts of units but its always the same now? Even with not very good general's i still get the same results, yet at the start of the game this would never happen. Whats going on? have the barcerian mercenaries and falxman troops been too strong or something? (sorry if i dont' spell them right)

If you think those battles were easy. Try playing my mod. Trust me I dont think your battles will be just mop up.

I think your battles are just to simple because you play a bit lame
I mean an entire stack of falxmen... If I was the AI I'd pump out archers and you'd be dead meat...
If you want battles to be more challenging perhaps make out a more balanced army, for example maximum four units of the same type (as in multiplayer). You don't see anyone making a stack with only elephants or only cataphracts...

hahaha nice point there, it is a bit lame, but the problem is that im still destroying with anything, not just falxmen. I mean i did the "no more than 4 of anything" mulitplayer thing but its still not right. The balance with good generals vs bad generals is i think what is throwing the battles my way. I've got a ten star general that crushes any army with my lame "charge and mop up" technique which ive noticed works less effectively with lesser generals. I know that it wouldn't work as effectively battling against ten star generals on the other team but i rarely see them so ill just download another mod. I just want huge battles with hardcore armies and insane generals and im fighting them off with the very last of my men and im being attacked by thousands in a huge epic castle etc etc. Any suggestions?

try playing the united rome campaign set in 280BC on the europa map.
u got phyrrus huge army and hordes of gauls attacking ur weakling hastati.
it will be even more of a challenge if u play on VH/VH.

im playing that campaign on H/H now.
i can still make my way thru it, but it has taken longer than other games.

hmm good point, i think it basically just became too easy because i had conquered 20 or so terrotories, but it doesn't seem right. I started playing a new campaign as the greeks and man i love those spartans. I'm getting DESTROYED on all sides and its ****ing mad now, it just becomes too easy once you beat off the countries nearest you, i mean ive never had egypt try to conquer the world or even britian make a bold move, it just seems to be the guys in the middle in the huge battles and so once the middle factions are wiped out, the game loses its difficulty. damn.

Try SPQR 6.2. That mod does exactly what u want. It even has great music.
