Regarded as reliable and honourable, the company is comprised of minor Vale nobility from around the Gulltown area commanding a body of freemen volunteers.

Trade is only accepted if Karstark denies to had part on Harrenhal's defiling and the murder of the late Lord Strong, that no Karhold's troops participated on the sacking and disgrace of her home, lands and levies and that Lord Karstark disapproves the pain and suffering inflicted on her house, the old lineage of the Strongs. Only then, if Karstark swears by the Old Gods, shall Lady Jeyne accept such a proposal.
