Default The Last Roman: Possible Punic Wars Campaign?

    Hello everyone!
I was wondering if you guys had any plans percolating about using The Last Roman campaign map for a punic wars campaign in Ancient Empires.
Best of luck to the project guys!

    Hello

There's been some speculations about it. We plan to finish the grand campaign first at any rate, and only then possibly moving on to smaller focused campaign settings like this one. Whether it is going to happen or not remains to be seen - it has been done quite thoroughly already for Rome II.

This is talked about in another thread, as well. The map obviously lends itself to the Punic Wars and the Illyrian Wars Rome fought in between them, with the exception of France/Gaul. That addition will allow the map to be used for some other things, though, as well. There's no formal decision and any sub-campaign will be a secondary concern over getting everything going for the main one, anyway.

One other interesting scenario would be a late second century campaign with the Cimbrian migration (which I hope to feature in our Grand Campaign as an event, eventually, as well) and war with Jugurtha.

The Pyrrhic Wars and Rise of Italy would also be possible. At some point, it would be easy to release submod campaigns so we don't have to choose between any one scenario. The extra campaign slot and map will be very useful.

I'm still hoping CA gives us more maps for Attila. This one is pretty useful, though. The only downside is people will have to purchase the DLC to have access to our sub campaigns.

We could actually go the route of Rome's expansion up until the second Punic war with a similarily story driven campaign where you must do what is necessary to expand the republic

While it would give little replayability the story should be long enough for one very detailed and immersive campaign where almost all events are scripted and effected by your relations with the Senate and people of Rome

After all the previews, this is what I was hoping Rome II would be like. Talk about a dream game.
