Weeks of marching had been rewarded with the sight of Pinkmaiden's walls and as promised no sign of an enemy army beyond the garrison within in. As the sprawling Lannister host began to set up for a siege Jason Lannister moved forwards under a peace banner before the siege began in earnest. Someway behind him his engineers were already plotting and measuring, perhaps an ill omen.

Clegane rode into the siege camp, reeking of stale wine and filth. Blood was still splashed across his armor. He dismounted and made his way to the command tent. Dog remained behind, resting. When Leofric found Lord Lannister he bowed. "Pinkmaiden is open to you."
"So it is. You have done very well Leofric I will reward you for it when this is done. Before however I have a new task, are you able or do you require rest?" Jason asked magnanimously ignoring the other man's filthy appearance.
It was the best thing that could have been said. "It will be done." Leofric strode out of the tent, keen to begin the slaughter. Some of his men looked tired, but he didn't care. "Get up you useless s. We have work to do."
The army had left Casterly Rock several weeks ago and had just arrived at Pinkmaiden. It was average for a castle, the Piper's hadn't seen fit to work on it in recent years and it showed as the walls appeared worn from heavy winds. Damion rode up the hill and finally took in the view around the castle. He could see the lack of men inside the castle, merely a skeleton crew, it would be easy pickings for the almost 25 thousand men that had arrived here.
"It's only a skeleton crew Lord Jason, easy to take, but it will still take time to build the siege equipment to assault. If we're lucky, we can take it before any retaliation from the Riverlords arrives."
Jason nodded. "The important part of that was the other Riverlords? Where are they? Clegane hasn't found any and by now he will have sacked Acorn Hall's villages yet not a sign of a Riverman outside his castle West of the Trident."
