    Default Clegane's Rambles

    Traits: Duel +3, Survival +3, Assassin +1, Pillager +1

    Assets:
+6 Duels; Folded steel Greatsword "Bite"

Helm, Greaves, Chest-plate, Pauldrons, Gauntlets, Plackart, Sabaton (+10 HP and +2 duels)

    Force: 400 Light Cavalry

Clegane mounted his huge black destrier. Dog was barking excitedly, he could sense what was coming. Outside the men had been gathered. Some looked like they lacked confidence, others openly laughed at Clegane and his dog, certainly to some he looked like a bit of an oddity. Others looked at him in awe, such a large man on such a large horse with such a large dog. How thrilling. Clegane didn't care for any of that. Knight or not, command or not, he wanted these men to follow him for no other reason than fear of the consequences if they refused to obey an order. First he would do good by Lannister and send him his reports. Then the countryside would be his. It would be his time to show the lords of the Westerlands what an asset a mad dog could be. It felt good to be on a horse again.

ooc: I'm going to use this thread for all the scouting RP, raids, battles, etc that Leofric might face.

His rider returns with the compliments of Lord Lannister and instructions to keep searching for the Riverlords forces.

Clegane dismounted and called for several men to join him. "Don't get comfortable" he growled. He ordered Dog to stay. not a problem, the dog had been running for hours. He collapsed in the grass panting. Clegane walked several hundred feet through some sparse trees and eventually drew closer to the castle in Pinkmaiden. He heard some noise which indicated his proximity to the keep. He chose a hill with vegetation near it in order to seek cover. He crawled on his belly up to the crest of the hill and peered down. "haha, those stupid . Left the entire place undefended have they?" He tried to make a count of the men on the wall, but after several dozen he lost count - or had reached a number he did not know- and so he gave up. "Send a raven to Lannister" he ordered, absently. "Tell him what we know." Clegane rolled his way back down the hill to his horse. "Get in the saddle you worthless , it's time to some people up." With the garrison nestled within the castle Leofric knew that the farms and dwellings of Pinkmaiden would be open to raiding. It was exactly what he intended to do now. "We are going to up some Riverlanders!" He said with a cry as he spurred his horse onwards. Dog sprung up and silently strode to hsi side, trying to keep pace with his horse. Clegane rode away from the keep towards the undefended portions of the area.

    Raid on Pinkmaiden

    Detection Roll: Rolled a 9 – 2 pathfinder = 7,

1-5, the peasants are caught completely by surprise and no defence can be mustered. Proceed straight to a Loot Roll.

    Perception Roll: Not needed.

    Raid Roll: Not needed.

Loot Roll: Rolled a 8, so 8% of 40,000 is 3,200 dragons looted.

Clegane was now spurring his horse to its fastest speed. Dog tried to keep up but inevitably could not keep pace. He followed his master based upon scent now. Son they were approaching the first farming village, not far from the city walls. Leofric drew his massive sword and gave a low yell. Clearly he had taken the village entirely by surprise. The first villager he encountered was soon cloven in half and lay dead upon the grass, blood sprayed all over the surrounding area. He quickly dismounted, it was easier to swing a sword of that size dismounted. Several other vilagers were dispatched in a similar manner. Man, woman, it made no difference. Anyone who got in his way whether or not he or she was fighting back soon found himself destined for the afterlife. Soon the initial resistance had died down. The rest of the villagers attempted to flee. “Kill them!” Clegane bellowed. Dog had been gorging himself on a villager with his neck torn out and quickly joined the chase, jumping and taking down another from behind. His screams were quickly stifled. Leofric searched for the nearest wine store. “Leave some of those women!” he ordered

It wasn't long before Clegane was once again on the trail heading eastward. These Rivermen were piss poor fighters so far. He set his sights on Acorn Hall and its lands. He had four hundred men and a nod from Lord Lannister, it was time to lay this place low. They were approaching a small crop of villages. They looked like easy enough pickings. He ordered his men into a double line two deep and then gave the order to charge.

Raid roll for Acorn Hall please

    Raid of Acorn Hall:

    Detection Roll: Rolled a 10.

6-10, the peasants muster a weak defence, but in the chaos do not send riders to report the attacking banners. Proceed to Raid Roll.

    Perception Roll: Not needed.

Raid Roll: Rolled a 5 so 5% of the Light cavalry or 20 men are killed during the raid.

Loot Roll: Rolled a 13, so 13% of 30,000 is 3,900 dragons looted.

Finally, some peasants with pitchforks. Clegane dismounted. It was easier (and more fun) to slice them in half while on foot. He easily parried the thrust of one and brought his greatsword down on the farmer's skull, causing an eruption of gore. He grunted as he cleaved another with a follow up. Several of the villagers had bows and scored some lucky marks. But the number of the dead on his side were few. Inconsequential. Meanwhile Dog had found some pigs to eat. He was useless when there were pigs around.

"Burn this to the ground." Clegane said as he looked at the carnage around him that he had created. He wasn't going back to Lannister this time. The mad dog was off his chain, he would continue to cut a swathe eastward.

Clegane moves next to Wayfarer's Rest. His force had only been moderately reduced to 380 men, still enough to do plenty of damage. In addition to this raid, Clegane sent 200 men north to scout Riverrun. Perhaps they would be vulnerable to some surprise attacks or ambushes.

ooc: Raid Roll on Wayfarer's Rest and a scout roll on Riverrun please

    Perception Roll: Not needed.

Loot Roll: Rolled a 10, so 10% of 30,000 is 3,000 dragons looted.

    Scout Roll on Riverrun:

    Rolled a, 11.

The Clegane scouts report that a massive army is currently encamped at Riverrun. The scouts were not able to get good numbers estimates reporting only that at least 30,000 men are encamped there.

Amidst the slaughter of yet another village's worth of people, Clegane hears word of the armies gathering just north of their position. "So that's why we haven't seen anything." He said gruffly. "Fine, if they don't want a fight, we will go to them." It was strange, he thought, that he had been allowed to wreak so much havoc without having any armies sent against him.

    Orders:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

ooc: Clegane sets up position in wooded areas near the assembled army and looks for an opportunity to launch a raid on the camp. The goal will be to inflict as many casualties upon the enemy as possible and retreat before a counterattack can be raised. Clegane will retreat to the south, trying to draw forces away from Riverrun in the opposite direction of Lannister's host.

Just going to re-purpose this thread.

    Raymar Lefford's Group

Ser Raymar Lefford, 3 Battles Duels, Charisma, 2 Survival
Ser Donnel Lefford, aux (Raymar's son)

    1,890 Light Cavalry

The stables of Goldentooth were quickly brought alive with activity as near two thousand horsemen, the light cavalry of House Lefford, prepared themselves to range into the Riverlands and cause some damage once more. With word of the major victory at King's Landing having arrived, keeping the pressure on the Riverlords would be important if the Stormlands were to recover. In truth, the Green cause looked increasingly desperate after that defeat, Aegon being one of the many casualties. Still, the Westerlands declared Green...

Raymar entered the stables flanked by a few of his closest associates and eldest son, dressed in leather and chainmail in order to travel light. Men greeted him as he passed them by and his squire could be seen ahead preparing his horse.

Clegane mounted hie huge black horse as Dog appeared noisily by his side. "Finally, a proper force." He said in a low, slow tone. "We can do some real damage with this."

"We know the Riverlords squat in Riverrun," said Raymar loudly as the cavalry assembled in the spacious square outside the stables, "We're going to hug the mountain line heading north out of this pass and start at Turnbridge. We'll push as far inland as the Trident then follow the coast back into the northern Westerlands, where hopefully Lord Lannister has some sort of army watching that road."

Clegane sat there laughing on his mount. "They'll be some stupid who let us back in unopposed. I wouldn't be so confident those fish ers will still be sticking around Riverrun by the time we get back there." Dog gave a loud bark. "Better if they're out and about I say. Give us the chance for a real battle."

The cavalry set out in the early hours of the morning, darkness covering their exit from the valley in which Goldentooth sat. The party veered off the road early, hugging the rocky mountain slopes to avoid being sighted on the approach to Riverrun. This particular part of the border was often disputed between the two Kingdoms, where the mountains of the West met the fields of the Riverlands: where precisely did the mountain end and the fields begin? Herders in the mountains owing loyalty to House Estren of the Westerlands had regular disputes with farmers belonging to the Lychesters of the Riverlands over these pastures.

Eventually, after some days on the move, the group gathered in some woodland that lined both banks of a wide, but shallow, river. Making camp, the senior men in the party were summoned before dawn.

"We're now on Lychester land," said Raymar to the assembled group of senior horsemen, who had gathered in the centre of the camp, "This river goes east towards Riverrun eventually, we're crossing it and going north closer to Lychester Castle where the towns are. We'll hit a string of them as we move north until we hit the mountains again, which we'll follow east."

"No mercy." The giant specter of Clegane muttered. "Lefford, we need to talk about booty." Leofric stated bluntly. "Way I see it, you're a rich little lordling. You don't need extra coin."

"'Lordling' is a tad condescending considering I'm older than you, Clegane," said Raymar equally as bluntly, "and you'll get a share. You're but one man in two thousand, though."
