Default Crakehall, Seat of House Crakehall

    House Crakehall of the Westerlands
    None So Fierce

House Crakehall are one of the most ancient houses of the Westerlands. Their claimed ancestry is descended from Crake the Boarkiller, who was allegedly alive during the Age of Heroes. Due to this claim, Crakehall's ancestry traces not only through Andals, but into the First Men. They are known for their uncommon robustness, making them capable warriors and favored commanders in the Westerland's nobility. Their greatest known achievement was when Ser Aubrey Crakehall forcefully became the King of the Iron Isles after defeating Haron Hoare in battle. Aubrey would rule for only six months before being captured and drowned by a priest known as Shrike. The members of House Crakehall are known as devoted and loyal vassals to House Lannister of Casterly Rock. They are known to clamor for commanding positions when the banners of the West are raised.

    Members of House Crakehall
Damion 'the Strongboar', Lord of Crakehall

    Age: 47
    Marital Status: Widowed

Bio: Damion Crakehall, hailed as 'the Strongboar,' is the successor of the late Lord Lyle, who died in a hunting accident in his old age. By the time he was raised to the Lordship of Crakehall and her vassals, Damion had already made quite a name as a squire for House Lannister and later commanding patrol parties that would round up various criminals. He would be elevated to command small armies that were taken from Crakehall's levy to deal with larger threats such as nests of bandits and roaming bands of oathbreaken knights. He rose to the High Lordship of Crakehall with no trouble, for even his relatives bowed to Damion's impressive reputation. Now at the age of 47 namesake days, Damion remains a powerful presence in the Southern Westerlands. He is also a very vocal supporter and loyal lord to present Lord Paramount of House Lannister and Casterly Rock. Ten years age, Damion lost his beloved wife, Lady Ella. Since that day, Damion has added a cold personality and cunning look upon his person. At some point, Damion fathered a bastard by an unnamed woman.

    Traits (11 points):
+3 Battle - Damion is a well-known commander in the Westerlands. He has served House Lannister faithfully against nests of bandits, unfaithful peasants, rebels and rogue knights. His experience and upbringing has made him a reckoned presence.
+3 Duel - The uncommon robustness of Crakehall blood makes them capable knights, some of the best in the Westerlands, perhaps in all the Seven Kingdoms.
+3 Survival - His experience has brought scars to his face and near death on occasion, yet Damion has survived.
+2 Charisma - The Strongboar's reckoned presence and impressive reputation makes him not only feared, but respected.

A raven from the Pinkmaiden Camp arrives.

It appears that the Reach has sided with Aegon or at least against the catspaws of the usurper. I ask that you take the your levies and join my mercenaries at Casterly Rock before marching down the Gold road towards King's Landing. Halt at the edge of the Westerlands.

When the noble of the Shield Islands arrived, he had only just arrived shortly after Damion Crakehall departed with his forces and his eldest son, Gerion, and brother, Willem, in tow as they followed the commands of Lord Lannister.

Lucion Crakehall, the second son of Damion, and his uncle, Martyn, remained however. The rider was brought into the main keep to meet with Lucion and Martyn Crakehall who tending to the business of Lord Damion in his absence.

When received, Uthor was slightly dismayed by Damion Crakehalls departure. This setback was however not completely unprepared for. I am Uthor Grimm, heir to Greyshield and the high seat of the Shield Islands. I have come to speak politics and house relations. Precarious times we live in these days, too much so to not have friends of our northern neighbors.

Uthor spoke with authority in his voice. He was not pushy, nor did he sound insistent, but you could tell he was a man with leadership flowing in his veins.

Friends of our northern neighbors? Crakehall is not even within arm's reach of the Shield Islands, Uthor.

It was Willem who spoke first in reply. The aged Crakehall looked at Uthor with suspicion.

What is the intention of your politics and house relations you speak of?

Uthor stroked his beard slowly and peaked an eyebrow, Nor is Winterfell an arms reach from Kingslanding, yet that does not diminish the importance of cordial and good relationships. Down to the brass it is. There are Lords that have declared for Rhaenyra Targaryen. I intend to lead the Shield Islands and ourging the Reach from their influence. We are well known and respected in the Reach. It is my duty to be at the forefront of the efforts. Though our influence is large our pockets are not however. So I have come to request aid in this matter.

Willem's eyebrow goes up. Lucion even looks slightly confused. A Reachlord was asking for aid from a Westerland noble in what was a Reach affair. Lucion now spoke up.

You wish for Westerlander help in a Reachman's affair? My uncle and I are very confused, Uthor of House Grimm. Why would you ask for Crakehall aid? What would be the purpose?

We serve the same King, do we not? Aren't his enemies, our enemies? If that is not the case then I shall take my leave. I come looking for friends in those that share a common goal as I. Not to beg or harass. Uthor said having lost his smile. Some appearances are not meant to be kept. His smile was one.

Willem and Lucion look at one another once more, slightly confused that this Uthor Grimm was not being direct in his inquiry. Willem then speaks up.

Well yes, Uthor of House Grimm, we share similar foes and have similar allies, goals and ambitions since we fight on the same side.

My House will march soon, but the numbers of the Shield Islands are small compared to some of our fellow Reachmen. We are also not as financially sound. The rigors of war will hurt us financially. If Crakehall would be willing to provide a small loan, their money would be repaid double, and friends from the Shield you would forever have.

A mere 10,000 dragons. That will support our raised army for another year should we need it.

Willem was surprised by the small amount requested. He orders a maester to write the amount needed and to be granted to House Grimm. The note is given to Uthor.

The dragons will be delivered momentarily.
