Lord Corlys Velaryon has given command of the fleet sent to blockade King's Landing to Ser Cortnay of Claw Isle whilst he oversees the landing of the troops at Duskendale. Perhaps not the most high-ranking person within the fleets, but one he trusted with naval tactics rather than some useless mainlander.

Lord Corlys Velaryon, after ensuring the successful landing of the troops at Duskendale, arrives with the fleets of House Velaryon and House Duskendale to join the blockade of King's Landing. He assumes overall command of the fleet.

The fleets of House Brune of Dyre Den and House Brune of North Crackclaw are sent to the edge of Sharp Point (the Sharp Point tile) to guard the approaches of the south from Dragonstone (to make the fleet closer to the 250 cap).

OOC: The blockade is now in effect, unless there are some ships present that need fighting?

OOC: Yeah that's fine, if only I was a couple of hours quicker than his levy wouldn't have been called in time.

OOC: Tell LM. He may not even have noticed. Otherwise, yes, the blockade would be considered enacted.

After having receiving the raven from Rhaenyra about the coming battle Corlys orders his fleet to hold the blockade - as long as a green fleet didn't enter or leave the bay all would be well. He hadn't heard anything from Sharp Point so as of yet expected nothing from the south.

The men manning the ships of the blockade looked on in awe at the remnants of the bloody battle outside King's Landing. Jets of flame had appeared from within the sky, dragons burning foes and other dragons alike, bathing the field in fire and blood. The cries and clashes of the battle had reverberated across the sea, as if the gods themselves were shouting down from the heavens. Silence did strike however, when a dragon fell from the skies, crashing into the ground, sending dirt and debris cascading into the air.

Corlys watched all this, a face impassive, too far away to note which dragon and which ride had fallen, to grasp the full extent of the causalities. A small smile did form on his face when he saw the force that marched from the city retreat back to it. A sign of victory for Rhaenyra he was sure. Little did he know the cost of such a victory, and the deaths it had brought.

The men around him looked at him, as if expecting him to order them to sail into the harbour and destroy the fleet. Corlys shook his head, why the risk? The enemy ships weren't going anywhere and nothing was getting in. Now the siege could be conducted whilst the enemy was cut off from the sea. When the city was taken the ships would surrender and they could be added to his fleet. A win-win if you asked him

He turned to Ser Cortnay, "How bad do you think it was out there?"

Cortnay frowned, and scratched at his chin, as he observed the Dragon fall from the sky. He didn't have a damn clue who won, but they were buggered if it wasn't Rhaenyra.

How many Dragons? Four? Five? He said with a grimace to Corlys, I sure as hell wouldn't want to be out there.

Corlys grunted in agreemenet, "Join the club, those are brave men at there, standing their ground like that. Although it would have been much worse for us if those dragons had decided to fight over this fleet instead." Yes, all the wood and sails would have made the whole fleet catch a blaze. He contiuned absentmindly, "Do you know my wife has a dragon? I've never shared the affection for them as she had, damned beasts - so powerful yet you can't read what they are thinking."

They scare me. He said, honestly, with a grimace. I could never live with such a dangerous creature. As like to burn down your home as to eat your serving girls. Smiling slightly as he saw the Green forces retreat into the capital, Cortnay looked back to Corlys.

I hope to never gave a dragon whilst on board a ship. Would be like fish in a barrel. Burning fish, of course.

"Aye, we'd be roasted for sure," Corlys replied with a grin. He looked over at the scene once more, "Now the battle is over do you fancy coming ashore where our forces are located too hear what as happened? This fleet isn't going to do anything unless the Crownlander ships in the harbour do, and we'll be able to see any movement they make in plenty of time to get back."

    With pleasure.
Cortnay replied. All this talk of Dragons was making his current position on a ship uncomfortable, and he half expected for one of the winged savages to swoop down from the heavens and burn them all to a salted crisp.

OOC: As the city surrendered do the ships that were present in King's Landing fall into the Black's hands? They were at King's Landing when the blockade was put in place, and never attempted to sail out so I assume they are still there.

That's a good question, in the rhaenyra thread the Navy is accounted for as sailed into the harbor but close to the capital. Only reason I'm checking around is because Lyonel is the commander. I didn't RP because it seemed like the navy was just at a standstill. Don't know, but it would give me interesting RP either way
