Stone wall for battle maps. Soldiers can take cover behind it and take less casualties:

But they are quite vulnerable for artillery - a serious hit with shells will not only destroy the defense, but it will kill everybody behind!

Besides that, when finished i'm going to release this battle map "Open fields" on steam workshop, so you can have a bit of fun on it.

Amazing!!!
Hello!
Congratulations on changes!
Since I'm the only one working on units atm, and I only work on one at a time, you have your answer ;D
But the Sharpshooters should be easy to implement, since I only have to recolor the frock coat, trousers etc.
Wonderful work! I suppose it is far to early to ask wich cavalry units will be amongst the first to implented
Well, I won't go to fancy on Cavalry. The current battle mod pack isn't more then an appetizer. Most likely it will be only one standard cavalry unit. And if i have the time maybe the 6th pennsylvania cavalry, armed with lances. For the LoL.
Yes... it's a ing difficult work and I have to write all the tools by myself >.> And my scripting abilites aren't that good...
I think Primergy will have much more problem at buildings and monitors. I mean, the Roanoke in FoTS is already a casemate ironclad.
So, what kind of weaponry would the cavalry use? breechloader single shot carbines? Is this means there wouldnt be Union cav with Henry rifles and Confederate revolver raiders with extra campaignmap range?
FOTS has both revolver and musket cavalry units, so I'm sure you could have the confederate raiders. And for the henry repeating rifles, you can just decrease the reload time (unfortunately, it would seem complicated to add a long reload time every 6 shots)
There might be a way to work around this. Possibly make the standard reload for the soldiers be 1 second, but instead of having the soldiers play a reload animation, maybe an aiming/bolt-chambering animation. Instead, attach the reload animation to the misfire animation? That way, soldiers would look like they're firing multiple times, but still reloading when their "magazine" is empty.
since I'm lazy and animations are a lot of work, i will use the "quicker reload" technique, even if it's not so sexy as a real reload anim after several shots^^
the north used breach loading carbines, the Sharps Model 1859 starting in early 1862 so carbine cavalry units can be left alone if need be. southern cavalry used the Enfield 1861 musketoon for the war. in the Trans Mississippi theater raiders such as Quantrill and Anderson used several revolvers usually Colt or Remington.
Wow beautiful units primergy!
Keep up the good work!
