Default Giving Ostrogoth bonuses to Visigoths - First time modding

Hi. This is actually my first time on TWC. I got into Total War just about a year ago, but I've just been playing it on my own and with friends until now. I have some experience modding in Paradox games, but with Total War games, the farthest I've gone is using the PFM to take out music files.

Anyway, I want to play a Gothic Roman restoration in Attila, but for various reasons I want to do it with the Visigoths. I want to give the Visigoths the same faction bonus as the Ostrogoths, that is, being able to recruit Roman units from conquered territory, and I also want to give them access to the Ostrogothic elite pikemen (ideally, I'd create a duplicate unit with a different name, but if that adds significantly more work, I'll just be happy opening up access to the Ostrogoth unit).

I'm looking through data.pack right now, but I'm not quite sure what sub-files to look for. I'd appreciate it if anyone could give me tips on what to do to achieve my desired results.

OK, I think I figured out the unit part - I made my own mod pack, moved over the unit permissions tables, and added permissions to the Visigoths to use both Ostrogoth pikemen, and all of the same Roman units that the Ostrogoths can. Will this be enough? Or do I need to alter other files in order to give the Visigoths the same functionality as per Roman units that the Ostrogoths get.

However, I also want to enable the Goths to upgrade Roman buildings (just not build them from new). The building tables are a bit more confusing, and I'd appreciate advice on how to allow barbarians access to upgrading Roman military buildings.

I think what you've done so far is enough for the same functionality as the Ostrogoths.

As far as upgrading Roman buildings, I don't think it's possible. The only way I know (but maybe there are others) is to change the Ostrogoths' culture to Roman, but that would mean they'd lose access to barbarian buildings.

Unfortunately, the mod doesn't seem to work, even though the pack file is in the proper directory, and the mod shows up in the Attila mod manager. Sucks to hear about the development, but I suppose I could just park out in Aquitaine and protect Iberia while the Romans develop it.

Faction traits under the "effect_bundles_to_effects_junctions_tables table, just copy past theirs and change the faction name, thats it

The mod is finally done. Thanks for all the help to the people in this thread, as well as those who replied in the similar thread about giving the bonuses to the Saxons.

I uploaded the mod to the Steam Workshop under the name "Visigothia" if anyone is interested.
