Default Decluttering the OOC of a Pointless Argument

Ficenzi. 200 knights cannot defeat 10k peasants. Peasants invented the polearm to kill knights. It was originally a farm tool strapped to a stick. 10k peasants with the only weapon they can get their hands on, usually a polarm, would butcher 200 knights. It just depends on it being a mob or an actual unit intending to kill, not just riot.

And yes, the Targs attacked the Faith. We all saw how Maegor the Cruel's rule turned out, and he was the only one with the balls to attack them.

Can we stop debating about something this pointless?

Just saying, a good cavalry charge would clear out a rubble.

Not if the rabble had spears.

Killing the High Sparrow is a brilliant idea - even a necessity.

Doing it publicly would be a catastrophe.

Never arming him in the first place and taking action as soon as he was elected: even better.

Yes, because a poor rubble has something more than rocks!

Dude, peasants invented spears. They just tied tools to sticks. So they have spears. Lots of spears.

Stop arguing pointless things in the OOC thread. If you want to do so, do it through PM.

Hold up. It doesn't say we can't debate in the OOC chat. That's what it's here for:
    To chat.

It isn't pointless when we are making innuendos about dragons, their size and riding them. So why is it pointless when we are having a serious debate that doesn't breach the ToS? We aren't talking politics, or nationalism, or any other forbidden subject. We're talking about history - the history of the polearm to be precise - which people do all the time. How is that suddenly forbidden?

And, ficenzi, my point is that polearms were invented by peasants, who were originally the only form of infantry. The halberd in particular was invented by Chinese peasants to fight horsemen with. It is a weapon poor people have huge amounts of. For example, in the Irish Rebellion of 1798, most of the United Irishmen were armed with pikes because there were not enough guns.

A moderator does have the right to prevent debates though, whether or not its civil. If a moderator says take it elsewhere, then you best do. Its breaking ToS by disregarding moderators though. Not entirely serious, but its best to obey moderator judgement. The debate is only considered pointless because it has no regard for Game of Thrones. Originally it did, but it has delved into something else entirely that is unrelated to this forum.

Just respect what HB asked and take it elsewhere, please.

It doesn't need to be explicitly written in the OP to be considered a rule. Your "debate" is nothing but an argument that does not need to posted here in the OOC thread. But if you need it explicitly stated, I'll be happy to add and start deleting everything I see from now on.

Because its a debate about a technicality which literally does nothing but flare up OOC tensions?

Not really. Spear was the first and main infantry weapon through history. There is a reason a sword is called a sidearm. Modern TV and films just over-sell swords since kids like them.
    Make the Reach great again.
