    Biography
Aegon II of the House Targaryen

Full Name: Aegon Targaryen, the Second of His Name
    Nicknames:
"Aegon the Elder" and "Aegon the Usurper"

    Age:
    22
Marital Status: Married to his sister, Helaena Targaryen
Children: Jaehaerys (6 years old, born 123 AC), Jaehaera (6 years old, born 123 AC) and Maelor (2 years old, born 127 AC)
    Traits (6 points): +8 Duel (+8 from Blackfyre), +2 Battle, +2 Survival, +2 Escape, +2 Capture

Commonly known as Aegon the Elder, to differentiate from Rhaenyra's son, Aegon the Younger, the Targaryen was the firstborn son of Viserys I's second marriage to Lady Alicent of House Hightower. He was soon followed by his sister-wife, Helaena, and his brothers Aemond and Daeron. Despite being the firstborn son, Viserys was very keen on having Rhaenyra be his heir, despite the desires of Aegon's mother to make him heir or at least wed his older sister. The young Targaryen grew up in a turbulent household as tensions between Rhaenyra's children and his siblings was common knowledge to the realm. One incident that would led to Aegon's resent towards Rhaenyra's children was when Jacaerys Velayron asked Princess Helaena to a dance. The young Aegon took offense and a fight would have broken out if the Kingsguard had not intervened. When Viserys finally separated his family in order to keep the peace and Rhaenyra went to Dragonstone, Aegon and his siblings with his mother would remain in King's Landing. Ever since that turbulent childhood, Aegon kept a resentful gaze east towards Dragonstone.

Aegon would become a capable dragonrider and bond with the most beautiful and magnificent dragon known to Westeros, Sunfyre the Golden. Sunfyre was nothing like Aemond's mount, the mighty Vhagar, but none could deny its beautiful and ferocity, a ferocity that matched the cruelty and malice of its rider. His greatest friends were not only his mother, but his younger brothers, who remained loyal to their older brother. Despite being his father's image, Aegon was known for his cruelty, temper and malice, especially towards his sister Rhaenyra and her kids, one of whom made Aemond known as the One-Eyed. Upon the death of Viserys I, Aegon gained the sword Blackfyre.

Criston Cole, during a moment of peace from his duties, set aside a short period of time to visit the King. The man had taken to wearing a surcoat over his armour. Dragons, in the colours of Sunfyre, Vhagar and Dreamfyre, were embroidered on its black face, setting upon a yellow dragon which could only be Syrax. The design was exquisite, handsomely paid for in gold and time. During Vierys' reign, Cole would never have dreamed of so openly declaring his loyalties. Now, however, Vierys was dead, and the realm needed strong loyalties.

Aegon was sitting at his desk, his eyes fixated upon two items before him. The first was the crown of Aegon the Dragon, a circlet of valyrian steel decorated with square rubies. The second item was the very sword of the Dragon, Blackfyre. It laid, unsheathed, upon a blanket made of black silk, embroiled in red. Aegon the Elder gazed upon both items for a long time before looking up when he heard Ser Cole approaching him.

Never thought these days would come, Lord Commander. My mother fought for my rights, but father ignored them blatantly. He said he had an heir already...then why did he not choose me. For I was more of an heir than her.

Men are fallible, Your Grace. What are kings but men? Maybe it was to spite the gods, a final attempt to return to a land of fire of blood. Most would consider that hell, but I can see the allure.

He took several steps forward, placing himself firmly in the room.

There were many who did not want to see you sit the throne, who do not want you wearing the crown you were born to wear. That bastard Daemon for one, the Velaryons, the Arryns. Powerful figures in the court of your father. Oldtown is far away while the Sea Snake controls access to the Blackwater. If he turned Rhaenyra away, then they would have tightened their stranglehold on your father as they will try to do to you. Maybe His Grace thought that he was doing you a service, protecting you from their deceitful ways.

I have already given orders for the army and fleet to be raised. I plan to send word to Lord Baratheon and raise his naval levies. If we can smash Corlys at sea, then their power will be broken and restricted to the land. Yet, we must be weary of their dragons. They have the ability to gain more dragonriders while we are restricted. If we were to smash Corlys or even trap him, the dragons could easily rise and put our fleet to flames and ash.

Criston nodded at his liege's words. We should not rely on the success of Lord Baratheon and his levies, no matter their strength. It is as you said: they have dragons. What would happen if Corlys crushes the Stormlander navy and opens the Blackwater for Rhnaeyra? The capital would be vulnerable to attack, its defenders split in their loyalties.

    Another step forward.

Her Grace, your mother, spoke to me of her concerns regarding the citywatch. These concerns are valid. Daemon gave many of the men their cloaks, men whose loyalty is given freely to those who show displays of conduct that is not respected by the nobility. They need a strong hand to slap them back in to line.

Who would you recommend I appoint to slap the Goldcloaks into order, Lord Commander?

Aemond is shown to the King. Aegon II smiles cruelly.

Right now? Myself. I would hope that my loyalty was obvious, and in times like these, you need someone who is willing to crack some skulls and cave in some throats.

You make an interesting proposal, Lord Commander. Yet you are the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. Would it not be hard to do such roles?

Perhaps a Reachlord like Redwyne, or Florent? Each of those houses bring their own advantages.

Hmmm...Redwyne or Florent...perhaps we could also seek House Tyrell. The current regent is available. Maybe even Tarly.

The One Eyed Prince returned the cruel smirk, and bowed slightly.

Floating in Shipbreaker's Bay. And now I am wed unto Baratheon.
Pausing, he scratched the scruffy beginnings of a beard, before speaking again. May I ask you a favour, brother?

Chuckling slightly, Aemond took a seat at the table, and poured himself some wine. Draining its content quickly, he exhaled, and wiped his mouth.

I need money, for a fine sword. He said, before setting the cup down.
I'll need one if I am to exterminate Rhaenyra's bastard line. Looking back up to his brother, his eye hardened and narrowed.
Which I shall do. I shall swear it before the Gods. The Strong bastards... I will do whatever I must to cleanse this world of their base filth. He spat the word, as if it offended him greatly.

Aegon gently taps his chin before reaching for a piece of parchment. He writes down a value and hands it to Aemond. It was 40,000 GD, enough to get him the best castle-forged Greatsword.

I also intend to name you Warden of the Blackwater Bay, with the title of Lord of Sharp Point and its income.

Thankyou, brother. He said with a grin as he glanced at the piece of paper. I promise I shall bring you some traitor's heads as recompense. Aemond stood, examining his goblet carefully before setting it down. The smile had turned back into the stern, angered expression. What would you have me do? He asked, his voice filled with bitter iron.

Aegon notices his brother's tone and expression. His own gaze turns to look directly at Aemond.

I intend for you to command, Aemond. I intend for you to have a home for whatever offspring you may have the Baratheon Lady. I intend for you to have an income, a station, land, a castle. And I feel that I should reward my brother with a proper title as a reward for killing a Strong bastard.

His gaze darkens slightly as the King rises.

Or is your tone betraying dissatisfaction for having the King's bounty being placed upon you.

I merely wish to be directed at foes, brother. Aemond said with a frown. I will take my lands and keep with pleasure. But I mean to have my share of traitor's blood first.

OOC: , phrased that wrong, my bad. Meant more along the lines of 'who do you want dead'

Aegon grins at his brother and pats him on the shoulder.

I assure you, Aemond, as Commander of the Royal Army, you will get plenty of chances to take the traitor's blood.

Responding with a grunt of satisfaction, Aemond nods in consent, looking his brother in the eye.

The Stormlords gather quickly. They shall join me to scatter the traitors. Pausing, Aemond smiled slightly, before recalling something.
What of Daeron? He is unwed, is he not? Or unbetrothed, at least.

Yes, Daeron the Daring Prince. We will need to find him a suitable bride from among our loyalists or those neutral. Any suggestions, Aemond?
