Based in the hills of the West, Tarbeck Hall lies south of Casterly Rock, a few miles from the roaring coast of the Sunset Sea. It was a great castle, once. But no more. Like the old, proud house of Tarbeck, the ancient castle has fallen on hard times. Despite its favourable natural position; nestled among the large hillocks that are rife in this land, the castle itself is in a state of disrepair. The old towers have begun to crumble, and the frugal Lord Tarbeck does nothing to repair them simply because he lacks the funds to do so. Beneath the castle lies a small, walled town - which, like Tarbeck Hall, has seen better days. This once vibrant settlement has shrunken in size over the last few centuries. Since the Tarbeck gold veins ran dry, many people left for the much wealthier and prosperous Lannisport that lies further down the coast. Lord Tion Tarbeck rules here, and is referred to by the smallfolk simply as "The Old Lord", thanks to the longevity of his reign. And while the prosperity of Tarbeck has dwindled over the years, Tion has done much to stem that decline with a well negotiated marriage alliance to Casterly Rock, as well as his talent for acquiring coin.
