Alester Grimm was one of 3 sons. He grew up hearing the tales of the Ironborn taking Grimston and using it as a fortress against their own people. Such tales disgusted him, he loathed thinking of his people ever being so weak. His father built a different philosophy than ever before adopted by those of the Reach. One of strength and steel. The Reachmen were commonly thought of as colorful and very few as real warriors but the men of the Shield were far rougher around the edges. Their mindset was adopted to match, as well as they could, the Ironborn. Lord Alester Grimm embodied the philosophy and drilled it into his children. All 8 of them.

Uthor Grimm is the oldest of Alester Grimms brood. He was raised to rule and he has a capable body for war and a sound mind for it as well. He is less of a bureaucrat than his barely younger sibling but his father has deemed it acceptable. He is even keeled and rational but has a rage to him as well.

Age: 37
Uthor's younger brother by 4 minutes though it is not a 4 minutes his father has ever let him forget. Some would argue he had it harder than Uthor growing up. He had the same sword lessons but when they were over Lyonel was sent to study and listen to politics. When Uthor got in trouble as a child, Lyonel got whipped as well so that Uthor may remember that as Lord his actions will have consequences for others. He is the more well known around the Reach for his diplomatic missions.

Age: 32
Third born of Alester's first marriage, Olenna was Alester's princess. That did not however, stop him from being nearly as harsh on her as her brothers. She loves her family without question and is fiercely devoted. She is truly a shield maiden.

Age: 31
Youngest son of Alester's first wife. He shut down after his mothers death, so much so that even after the beatings his father thought he would be a mute forevermore. That proved not to be the case as his step mother and he got along well and opened him up some. Still, Belial does not speak much, wields a well weighted broadsword, and lets it speak for him. He is not reckless or easily angered but his rage when stirred cannot be tempered.

Age: 30
A legitimized bastard son conceived in the short period between Alester's wives, Azazel is unhinged. He is tough as nails but somewhere in his youth he seemed to lose a bit of himself, the part that kept him decent. He actively looks for fights and gives no quarter. His brothers try to leash him but it seldom works. The only person that he listens to more oft than not is his younger brother Uriel. He loves his family but just can't help himself more oft than not.

Age: 28
Uriel has had no worries growing up. The hard way he was raised seemed to fit him better than even Uthor. He is well known around the shield islands and loved by sailors and women alike. He is loud and obnoxious and tends to get carried away since he is a good fighter. Despite this he still holds a place in his fathers heart because he is quick of wit and wins most of the fights he gets himself into.

A beautiful woman with eyes of stone she considers her family to be her everything. Her and her younger sister are near inseparable and neither one was raised as harshly as the others. Deep down Desmera wants to wed and be happy but she exudes a toughness that she thinks her father needs to see.
