The mods have decided to give a slight income boost for the beginning of this restart. Every lordly House will get the usual starting money in addition to a year's worth of unmodified land income along any stipend money (if you are allowed to get it).

I'll post the merchant and sellsword starting boosts a little later.

Alright, here's the info for the merchant/sellsword boosts. I'm not going to do anything for religious characters as that's something that really needs to be Rped out.

    Merchant Boost:

    Tier 2 Guild House
    3 Level 1 Assets
    Double starting income.

    Sellsword Boost:

    Small Guild
2,500 Points for already paid for soldiers (well nearest to that number)
    Normal starting income.

This is just a post to remind everyone what's the definition of a few things are:

OOC - Out of Character; This is the 'real world', everything that is OOC is nothing of your character and you can use abbreviations and such in OOC.

IC - In Character; This is your character's world, roleplaying. Everything that happens IC, is for your character, and for your character only. OOC is not to be taken to IC, nor should you anger or anything about IC issues, like if you are offended in roleplay; do not anger over it.

MG - Metagaming; Using OOC information IC, and vice versa. For example, if you read something that someone had done ICly, but your character does not know it: your character doesn't know it even if you do yourself. This is very important, since people get unfairly advantages for doing this; and this is forbidden to do. Another example; if you see some people roleplaying and telling each other their names; you can't just pop in and say "Hello (name) and (name)." You must been there to know their names.

PG - Powergaming; This means doing something that you couldn't do. Like, "Bob jumped to moon and landed without injuries upon his arrival." This is not possible (unless the rules say so), and is not allowed and usually moderators will clear such things up; but it is forbidden. Also powergaming can be similiar to metagaming. Some people may read about a hidden army in the forest for example and then send there a spy and march up with their own and kill them. This is not allowed. Also, harming another player without any attempts (not giving a chance to react for the opposite side) is highly, forbidden.
In addition, it seems a lot of people are having a problem identifying what their characters actually know and what they don't know and are making assumptions that in many cases are absolutely wrong and I'm going to clarify that with the following guide.

Step 1: Is your character a direct participant of the event?
Y - you know what's happening IC and can react appropriately
    N - move to Step 2

Step 2: Has character been given information directly from someone at the event, whether that be through an actual in person talk or a raven?
Y- Then your character knows about what's happening
    N - Move onto Step 3
---- Note, a post in the ravens thread does not automatically mean that you know about it. They can be directional towards only a few regions and only those regions will have that knowledge. Other regions must wait until it's common knowledge for the news to spread to them

Step 3: Has enough time passed that a particular event would be common knowledge?
Y: Then your character knows about it
N: You do not know about it and cannot act upon it until its deemed so.
Q: How do you know enough time has passed?
A: Ask a moderator. Do not make any assumptions that it has passed. Everything can have different timespans and some things may never become common knowledge or require a particular trigger to be common knowledge. A body being stuffed into a barrel and sent down a river may not be found until someone specifically goes searching for it (which will require RP to lead you to said barrel).

I'm happy to announce that we've added two new moderators to the mod team Richard of Gloucester and Shankbot de Bodemloze. They'll be mostly handling the smaller RPs and rolls while leaving the big things like battles to me and Poach.

They don't officially have any mod powers yet to the forum but we'll try to sort out all of that as soon as we can.
