By the way, the 'See Charlie' error was in the logs even when there was no CTD. I didn't find it in the logs when I tested with the Romans, so it might only occur in Britain.

Although I'm getting ready to release an official hotfix, it will soon be redundant by 2.04c (likely released tomorrow).

Hello all,
I've been following this thread for many months now and just keeping an eye on it, and continued iterations and improvements to EB2. One thing I haven't seen mentioned anytime recently is the average battle speed. How long does it take to play out a full stack against another full stack? I know that's kind of subjective, depending upon play style.
I guess so you know where I'm coming from, I'm a long time fan of RTW realism mods...and Stainless Steel too, now that I think about it. I have a family and kids that chew up my time, but I still manage to get some play time in on vanilla Shogun 2 or Rome 2 right now. You know, 15 minutes here, or maybe at most an hour there on a Saturday morning when kids are sleeping in. So it scratches an itch, but there is another itch. I miss some of the complexity I found in EB or RS-II. I'm wondering if I can sneak in some play time in EB2 and play a fifteen or twenty minute battle, or if they turn into the 45-90 minute slugfests I've had in the other mods?
I'd like to report that the data folder fix uploaded did not stop my game from crashing, I uploaded my system log. Currently still playing as Koinon Helenon. http://www.megafileupload.com/4Zje/M2TW.system.log.txt
Right, sorry about that http://www.megafileupload.com/4Zk5/M...em.log.txt.zip
Battle against Makedonia? I can only assume that it ties in with the descr_formations_ai issue where larger armies trigger a crash. Quintus should have the fix for it hopefully today.
As a stop gap solution I would suggest to use the same file from another mod.
I'll release 2.04c with z3n's updated formations above, or an updated version of that, when I get home in about 9 hours time.
I've got some small fixes of my own (Seleukid court appointment, the underlying religion for Arevaci and Getai) to release anyway.
My own experience is that full stack battles last 20-30 minutes, unless you greatly outclass the enemy, in which case they're often over in 10 minutes.
Odd, do you mind trying this one and see if it works?
Just drop it directly into your EBII/data folder.

Hi Quintus,
What will the court appointment fix be? I noticed it was a bit hit and missed. One of my diplomats got it after several failures to award it elsewhere. I was having crashes too, much the same as others reported. Glad to hear its has been isolated. One on the Seleucid FMs (Achaios Jnr) is getting the firstborn trait, rather than his older brother Alexandros.
Keep up the good working. Makedon is alive and kicking after 80 turns of my first 2.04b game. The Pergamese were more active, though they wandered off into Thrace and lost their capital. My son played a Roman game last night and lost Ariminium to the rebel stack on the second turn...I'd just briefed him that wouldn't happen. Cheeky rebels!
It's been moved to the next turn, so that it won't be appearing at the same time as the successor choice. Hopefully that should do it.
Glad those subtle changes to Makedon have made a difference. Did they take Sparte?
Are the Rebels staying put more, rather than launching expeditions into far-off lands?
2.04 B carthage 41 turns H/M. Sorry Quintus but in my campaign the Macedonians only have pella and naissos?. Greece is the strongest of the three. While Epirus has 2 cities ( in Greece ) left as well. Iv noticed Epirus doing nothing in a lot of campaigns lately. the Macedonians still have some troops left, so there is still hope for them.
The biggest expanders are getai( 4 cities) and boli( 6 cities and besieging a 7th) in 10 years, that is pretty fast.(im jealous)!
Those rebels in Cisalpine Gaul have been more aggressive in a southerly direction in my last Rome game and in my son's. Makadonia did take Sparte.
As promised, updated to 2.04c with various fixes to broken bits.
Changelist for 2.04c:
- Updated Seleukid Royal Court script so as not to clash with Successor script.
- Replaced faulty formations file.
- Corrected omission of new base religion for Arevaci and Getai.
- Slight alteration to carthage_poils, carthage_council and numidia4, Greek auxiliaries now available from greek2 as well as greek1 regions.
- Adjustments to conversion mechanics.
- Fixed the British Tribesmen properly, now they are just spearmen.
Keep in mind that I only deleted the rocks and reassigned the spears to primaryactive0. The spears are pointing the way they always were, it's just that the new concept has their spears the other way around.
