general parashin khiarin, regular parashin khiarin, nabatean horse archers both rebel and on my side,
Thanks, I'll test in custom battle.
Nope - no problem with Parashîn Khiarîn (body guard and regular use the same model) or Nabatean horse archers in custom battle. I tested only the start, didn't fight a battle - I believe your crash happens when the battle is loading?
Aye indeed, while the battle is loading. I can fight two other battles using some of the same units and a rebel army with the same stuff save the non general parashin. I was also able to battle a hayasdan general against a rebel army and load things up, but there were graphical glitches with the units. I got a roman general against a few eperiotes to work, but not a single Swezboz battle would load without crashin. Its just before a third of the loading screen is through when it poops the bed. I just tried cleaning my registry too without any change as a long shot hope.
Also, I tried a fresh install again without the new vegetation with no luck, and even turned off my AMD gaming booster that came with my latest driver still with no luck

Playing as Baktria, my Faction Leader and half of my main force are destroyed by a storm when besieging Antiocheia Eschate. I noticed there are pirate ships in nearby lake, is this disaster supposed to affect troops near a lake?
I encountered a slightly similar problem initiating battles during the campaign as Ninja51 did. Starting a new campaign as Rome engaging the Epeirotes near Taras and later another new campaign as the Boii engaging Eleutheroi. The loading screen came up and suddenly "Medieval 2... unspecified error", but no CTD - the loading screen stayed the same and even the music kept playing in the background. My task manager told me that MTW2 was not responding any more, but EB2 still did.
My crash log files looked (on a glance) the same as Ninja's.
Anyway - since i never had any problems regarding former versions i tried a few things before thinking of a complete reinstall.
First i played custom battles with the units used in the crashed campaign ones and they loaded and ran smoothly.
Then i tried deleting the map.rwm in .../EB2/data/world/maps/base and started a new campaign to generate a new one - and suddenly the battles worked.
I can't remember if i did automatically delete this file when upgrading from former versions of EB2, but i don't think so.
You shouldn't have had to delete your map.rwm - there's a 0kb version in the zip which will overwrite it, forcing the game to regenerate it.
I included that to "automate" the process, rather than expecting people to do it manually. Though I always do it manually, myself, when testing.
Constant battle loading screen CTD, can't get around it, any idea why?

Am I supposed to be getting something after I completed Baktria's first mission? I already killed (more like auto-resolved) all the three rebel armies and taken the two minor settlements and its already the 13th turn.
Played a Sweboz camapaign on 2.04a for about 120 turns and I haven't got anything particularly new to add. Generally liked the CAI, the AI factions expanded in a logical way, they weren't overly aggressive or passive and by about turn 100 there was only a few rebel provinces left on the map, mostly in the more isolated areas. Didn't notice any assassin spam, although they were a few floating about, so I put spies in my settlements to cover that base.
However, when it comes to the BAI I have a few issues. At the moment it seems a little bit too easy to achieve a heroic or clear victory even when the enemy outnumbers or outclasses you. The AI follows some basic tactics like having a skirmisher screen in front of their infantry and advancing once you get very close, but my main gripe is their passivity. Even when they are the attackers and you the defenders, or when they clearly outnumber you, it can be difficult to stop them just standing around and making them actually charge your line. Even when they have the high ground, it is too easy to exploit the AI and rotate around them in such a way that they end up on the plains and you on the hill. Because it is such a huge advantage to have the initiative this makes battle very easy. I don't have a huge amount of experience with cavalry in battles because most of the enemies I fought were infantry based armies, so maybe they use them more sensibly then.
Before I played EB2 I played SSHIP, which is a Med2 submod for Stainless Steel, and that seems to be gold standard of AI, battles were difficult and could often go against you even when you faced a foe of equal strength. At the moment in EB2 it is far too easy to line up your troops and fill the AI with hails of missiles and flank them with your cavalry. A lot of these problems could be fixed I think by just making the BAI more aggressive - even against an inferior foe - being charged and flanked can quickly throw you out and put you on the back foot.
I second this.I had to reinstall my windows, and M2TW with that so I taught to wait for the autumn release and try something else until then.I installed Stainless Steel, and it's battles seem really well made. The units are responsive, the infantries are really cohesive, and the BAI seem good too, altough only played a few battles.Any way you guys can replicate it,or ask them how they made them?![]()

As I said earlier, deleting and rebuilding my map.rwm does nothing. I tried custom battles and while they still do load fine, cavalry units have a couple visual glitches and campaign battles still crash without fail. So disappointing that it looks like this issue won't be fixed until hopefully the next version just doesn't have this weird problem no one can explain. I should seriously never update the day of, be it drivers, windows updates, or games, it usually just busts all my! hahaha

Ok ... initially also faced with this problem ... but after reinstalling realized that you need to correct (carefully) to perform the installation .... now all is well, custom battle, the campaign ... Thank you for your excellent work and gentlemen the authors!

I have no installation problems for certain, I;ve followed everything to the T with no reprieve multiple times
to Ninja51.When I had trouble from one update to another I re installed into my directory and that worked.
I don't really know what there is to replicate or ask about but yes those are some of the things we have focused on in these release versions.

I think the crush is related to battle size. If I fight the same battle (against rebel full stack) with 4~5 units I can enter the battle screen, if I fight it with 10+ units the game crashes.
I can fight full stack vs full stack in previous versions, could this due to changes in BAI?
