Being trying to avoid having to do this but unfortunately I have got to that stage in hotseating where my interest is tailing off and so I am dropping all of mine that I am not really invested in. I am afraid this is one that has to go. It has been a pleasure playing with you all, but it would be wrong of me to continue holding up the hotseat

That is very unfortunate.. How are we going to solve this?

We desperately need a larger and active TATW player pool. All hotseats end up with 3-4 players taking over all factions.

Yeah, playing four factions is more of a chore than fun, especially with such a lengthy hotseat as this one. And JWANT can't keep subbing the orcs, since he, as the elves, is at war with them. This hotseat seems dead to me, tbh.

Unfortunately, this does seem dead. Chieftain is right about there being a lack of players since I do not know anyone who can replace TheBlackWolf and possibly themzr.

I'm open to suggestions. Right now it seems like a Men vs Dwarves and Orcs with Elves sitting on the sidelines so a team reshuffling could be possible but I'd be most concerned about game balance.

I am still committed to this hotseat. I just got back froma 6 week study abroad program in greece and now have total and complete access to internet and my computer again and can resume hotseating

The former, I'm afraid. I mean, I could force myself to continue playing four factions, but it's not that much fun anymore. And I feel like I've already accomplished a lot in this hotseat (with Viking). I also doubt we would find an experienced player to take over the orcs.

4 factions are a lot to play so I understand. We may need to eliminate some factions and decrease the size and scope of the hotseat if we want to continue. I'm not sure who we could eliminate though.

If it is the load of 4 factions per turn we could perhaps do a restructuring of the HS?

Right now we have:
Adanedhel (maybe not): Gondor-Eriador-Rohan-Dale
Chieftain: Dwarves
themzr: Harad-Rhun
JWANT: HE-SE
Open: OotMM-OoG

So we are looking at potentially finding 1-3 new players with this format.

Or we could eliminate factions and keep the FFA format. Eliminating the factions that don't have players leaves us with a strange hotseat set-up so we may need to have players change factions.

Or we could change this to a 2 team game by combining factions into new teams. Some factions may need to be eliminated to speed the hotseat up.

Actually eliminating some factions may not be such a bad idea. First thing that comes to mind is that Rhun - Harad are not able to form an alliance even though they are allies, so Harad would be my first priority to eliminate. (I'm not saying that because they are coming for me).

The question is, how are we going to restructure it? Adanedhel (and Viking, and themzr?) did a good job by killing Mordor and Isengard. Perhaps it wouldn't be fair to completely rebalance everything from that perspective.

I'm willing to continue as Dwarves on my own (without any allies). I'm still having fun in this HS as the longbeards

That's a good point. I was thinking Rhun and Harad could be eliminated but themzr - how do you feel about playing different factions?

It would be sad to see the most successful factions eliminated just for convenience but it might have to happen.

Why eliminate Rhun? Rhun should continue and it could be allied up with the Good factions, except a team of 5 factions might be a bit too much.

I don't like eliminating either of my factions. Especially because my whole strategy has been predicated on having two factions and using these ones. Perhaps first we can try and recruit someone else to take over the factions not being played rn first?
