Can't Run the Mod

I have a fresh new install of Medieval 2 Steam version, and I just downloaded the mod without any submods or patches and installed it correctly. However, when I try to use the Steam Launch Icon, I get that white menu to select to start with a mod or Medieval and both options give me this error:

"Error running 'medieval2.exe': the requested operation requires elevation"

And when I try to run the Non-Steam version it opens the game on a tiny window on my screen which then I can't change.

Is there something I can do?

You can change the "tiny window" by updating the graphics settings in medieval2.preferences.cfg to match those of your display.
