A very odd problem with finding medieval 2

I was looking through site after site, and I still have found nothing even close to what's going on with me.

I wanted to play medieval 2 again after a long break and I was going to install it on a new system, with windows 7, and the drive is there but it says there is nothing there. That the drive is empty and no cd or dvd is in the tray.
Maybe I'm missing something, but if anyone can help I would really appreciate it. I'm using the gold physical copy.

Are you having that problem only with the M2TW disk?
Have you tried the disk on a different machine?

yeah i just double checked it and my other machine, which has vista, acknowledges it exists.

Then it may be a driver issue of your disk drive.

You could try to uninstall the driver via control panel\device manager (DVD\CD-ROM drives) and then restart your machine - that should force the system to installed updated drivers from the net.
