I'm disappointed that the time period changed because there is all ready a mod like this one but, eh. Whatever.

This is exciting, I look forward to playing this mod and the one being developed for Invasio Barbarorum also set in the 3rd century for the original Barbarian Invasion
If this conversation continues then you will both be reported. This thread is about discussing Pax Romana only.

Hey Emperor Caesar, did you ever have a look at Harry S. Sidebottom "Warrior of Rome" series? It was what realy got me excited about this very period in particular. Its from the reign of Gallienus from the time of his father onwards, with the main character Ballista. Im sure you know about him. Think all the characters are historical, as Harry S. Sidebottom is an actual professor of Oxford. He realy puts flesh to the bones of these people, and realy makes for a 3rd century historical setting. The first book about the Siege of Dura Europus (Arète), realy got me going. I strongly reccomend these books for anyone that enjoys historical fiction, and want to know more about the era for this mod.

I have heard of the series yes, but I haven't read them. They do seem really cool.

Yes they are great books as are Harry's Throne of the Caesars series, same setting with murder of Severus Alexander and usurpation of Maximinus leading on from there.
Having spoken to Harry you get a feel of the details he puts into research, visiting locations etc. Recommend them. 'Iron and Rust' was the first.

Yes as Dontfearme22 stated, we have several materials at our disposal. I have never intended to use his series as a historical source over actual material.
