Make WAR not LOVE.In the GRIM DARK MEDIEVAL there's only WAR !!!
I checked the factions out in the custom battle screen to see what their strenghts and weaknesses are.
the timurids look like a middle eastern civilization, but I have no idea where they will appear. I did see the mongols appear next to the lands of the turks. When you use the cheat to view the entire map the new world will be revealed too. it didnt look too special and they shortened the distance greatly. the aztecs have big armies there, all full stacks.
I can understand that the aztecs have no horses, thats logical but they dont have any siege units either which makes them rather weak. I am sure they must have had some sort of siege equipment like catapults.
Im not sure if it was a bug but i played a siege against the Aztecs yesterday... all their city was middle eastern style for some reason. I actually failed that siege anyway, due to running out of time (spent to long trying to fear them up with cannons)
As for the Timurids, they settled in Antioch so i arranged for a crusade to head over there.. they had gold chevron elephants so i got pretty much destroyed in the first battle.
What sort of game? VH/VH full campaign? If so I bow down to you sir.
My campaign is doomed. I need to take a province at a rate of one every two turns to reach 45. I don't see it happening.
you had a slow start or ????? 1 city per 2 turns then you started late m8![]()
Well after such Mods like ATW or Barebones 7.0 or EB vs. Gauls elite you generally know what to expect...(hell and more hell...)I generally won because of forts I could grab enemies cities while their main armies were slowed down by forts then with money from loot boost army with mercs and new recruits...Originally Posted by Reiver

yeah it takes a special kind of sea fairing ship to traverse the Atlantic, Carraks i think they are called..
Ohhhh, I got it. Anyway, it seems that Mogols appear random places. In my game, they appear in east Germany, somewhere around Prussia.
I'm Venice and i had a hell of a time in the early game. Sicily and Milan both went at Venice full on with stack after stack. I couldn't expand east because the Byzantines and Hungarians were also going at me with full stacks. Although I won almost every battle it was so costly keeping Venice garrisoned that I was still at the same number of provinces at turn 80 that I was at turn 10. I'm now at 17 provinces with 55 turns left.
Same here. And it's very hard to make money cause most money goes to upkeep for my units in venice. But now that sicily and milan don't have a big army anymore I think I'll march my army to their cities:-)Originally Posted by Reiver
hi all
i have not yet seen any hint about the new world xept the custom battle. but i did see the timurids arriving. they came out of the nothing after i had defeated the mongols. hoorray! what a nice reward for the endless fighting! plus, they where even stronger than the mongols, stacks of good units, all gold.
they settled in the middle east and now give me a hard time there.
you guy sure the new world is in the campaign?
When I finally got myself into a position where I could hold off Milan and crush Sicily the Mongols arrived at the gates of Zagreb and Vienna while the Black death strangled my economy.Originally Posted by General_olli

Yup, it just doesn't appear until after turn 160 i think.

Damn!!! I better make myself a good garrison in Zagreb...
Another question to you Reiver: do you make a lot of money playing as venice? Around 60 turns I make 2000 florins max. And I can't disband some troopscause I need them in order to hold my best settlements.
Not as much money as i'd like. I didn't invest enough in the economy in the early game becuase it all went on troops and now my cities aren't producing like they should. If you can get about 5 or 6 units together and a decent Navy it might be worth trying to take Corsica and Sardinia. They were both rebel up until turn 160 in my game and both complete walkovers.
Pic of the new world anyone?
