    Default mercs

i loved using mercenaries in mtw and rome (bulgarian brigands and cilician pirates were my respective favorites), so i was wondering what mercenaries, especially unique merc units, are available in mtw2? screens would be great. thanks.

There are alot, too many for someone lazy like me to try and list (i think, in an old topic someone poster the file which contained all of the names but i may be mistaken). Also, they change depending on the year in the campaign.

I've hired some good (Pavise?) crossbowmen around central Europe, aside from the usual spearmen, archers, and cavalry. Apparently, Armenian archers and cavalry are available as mercenaries in Eastern Anatolia. If you check the troop selection for the all the factions in Custom Battles, you should see all of the mercenary units.

You can also find it with a list of mercenaries with their regions of origin in Program Files/SEGA/Medieval II Total War/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/descr_mercenaries

merc Frankish Cavalry and merc crossbowmen are ace! I hated crossbowmen in the original METW because they were useless, but they are worth the effort in this one.
