Not sure if it's historically proven but didn't the Huns have a much smaller horse than the normal European horse which was used by the Romans and the germanic tribes? If so, do you have any plans to implement them into the mod?

Yes indeed the mongolian horses were and are still today smaller than european strains. Otherwise i don't know if the mod make them like that.

My mistake, i meant the hunnic horses and i said the mongolians, but for me this obvious that they were very similar when you know a few things about horses around the world and in the History. We are for sure far from the Pura Raza Española or the later "destrier" (middle ages).
Not part of the FotE mod team, but on implementation of such a model:
We at Vae Victis Mod for Rome 2 actually have a smaller horse model (steppe pony) but thats the easy part.
The more involved part is that because the skeleton is changed it requires a lot of new animations to work.... like really a LOT!!!
so it is possible and if FotE would like to make those animations we could trade for our horse modelthough i imagine it is too much hassle to do.

The steppe ponies from the Mongols were not faster, but a lot stronger, tougher than the regular European horses. They and their riders could ride greater distances which allowed them to pop up somewhere unexpected. The Mongols would generally focus first on the cavalry, picking them off or luring them away and shooting them from horseback while being chased. Then they would return and deal with the rest of the army. Their composite bows gave them a big advantage to other bowmen of the time. Horse riding (endurance races), archery, and wrestling were skills everyone practised like sports, the first two of which would come really handy here. Both people and riders were very tough, used to extreme weather conditions and low rations. I suspect the Hunnic steppe horses were comparable and the strategies of the Huns very similar.
