More Mitanni/Maryannu Madness

Apologies for the lack of communication recently. We've been hard at work on new factions, cultures and mechanics. Right now we have split into two teams; Greenyrepublic and Massicio are working on polishing the Near Eastern factions and new mechanics, and I am working on minor factions outside the Near East.
I won't announce specifically on what Massico and Greeny are doing, but I am adding a large number of new units and assets for a wide spread of factions from India to Iberia. They will be released periodically starting in a patch or two.
Stay tuned for previews!
Little screenshot of the Iranians so far; bunch of new models and textures:

Nice units!
I have some pictures of the Assyrian exhibition in the British Museum from last March if you would like to use these as references. I tried my best to take pictures of the troops with the most detail to them. I apologize if some of my pictures are blurry because I was rushed by my family....

Very nice photos! Most of the images are pretty standard Assyrian imagery, but the third image really interests me. It looks like they are emissaries, but they seem to have pelts on their backs. If you could find any sourcing for what nation those emissaries represent I would certainly look more deeply into that, see if that style of dress can be backdated to the Bronze Age.
If I remember correctly, those were either slaves or prisoners. The guy that was cut out on the left is holding some kind of whip or baton. The third image is part of the same siege the wall is decorated about. Whatever empire, nation, inter-conflict, or opponent the Assyrians had conflicted with that was important enough to be on their walls must be what the prisoners/slaves were. I'll put up some pictures of the lion hunting scene later. I wanted to take pictures of the difference between warring Assyrian soldiers versus peace time Assyrians. Warring Assyrians had more protection displayed like greaves and boots. I think historical illustrators draw peace time Ancient soldiers mixed in with those of warring sometimes, which is why people see a trend of Ancient soldiers running around in bare feet during war. I also took those photos for the details, so you can see the lines on the helmets, shields, armour, greaves, boots, and clothing.

Just a minor progress update since the forum is a bit sparse right now;
Massicio2 is doing scouting work on the long-anticipated campaign aspect to the mod; mostly just determining the modding limits to the startpos
Greenyrepublic is dealing with irl work but will return for a short period to make some new armor and helmet models
I am collating and finishing minor factions; with the Steppe, Iran and India finished and all of the European factions and units currently in progress
Mitanni and Elam are done, with the exception of icons and faction colors. They will be in the next update which might happen either after or during Christmas.
And maybe there will be a Christmas present too, we'll see how things pan out...

His tunic is Assyrian design, but I still undecided if the current Anatolian tunics are elaborate enough for a "king" character. They are pretty simple right now.
