Default FotE will be on the Steam Workshop

When the Workshop opens, Fall of the Eagles will be on it in case any of you prefer that method. My plan is to make 3 Parts. If you want all of the mod features, use all 3 parts. However, if you prefer to have only the texture changes you can use parts 2 and 3 only.

Great news, your mods are fantastic. Do you have any information about when will the workshop be opened?

Thanks Dresden, I shall download it immediately when the workshop is up!
From the pride and arrogance of the Romans nothing is sacred. But the vindictive gods are now at hand. On this spot we must either conquer, or die with glory (Boudiccas Speech, Tacitus, Annals, XIV, 35)

under Patronage of Emperor Dimitricus, Granddaughter of the Black Prince.

Lets boycott steam because they want money for mods.

As a modding team (and community) centered around playing Total War games, which as of ETW are steam games, that would basically be impossible. I can tell you though that if CA joins in on this new paid mods concept (ugh), we won't partake in it.

That's great news too hear. I made a lot of Skyrim mods a few years ago, and had no problems with anyone using them for their own mods.

But the way I see it is, Big Overhaul Mods probably do deserve some sort of contribution from the community i.e. I would have no problem paying €0.50 to a €1.00 euro for mods made like FoTE, DeI, Radious and the like due to the fact that a lot of continuous work goes into them.

I do however have a huge problem with a guy making a sword or armor and charging €5 for it or a small previously released mod that you have to pay for now.

The other side of it is will people with greater animation/modelling/scripting knowledge get into modding and take special requests from people who are willing to pay for the mod they've always wanted that seems kind of cool to me. Like taking a request to turn the new Mad Max character into Mel or Tom

Thing is out of that small fee, very little goes to the actual modder/creator. I can't recall exactly what it was but it was somewhere around 10-20% of it. The rest goes to valve and the game developer, I believe it was. So really, it's not as much of a contribution as you might think. Direct donations would make more sense, in my opinion.

I just checked it, its only 25% goes to the mod author. What a DISGRACE! Valve are a bunch of S! A Direct Donations Feature to the Mod Authors PayPal is the way to go like on Nexus.

Before this turns into a discussion about the new steam policy, I am closing this thread. You can discuss this issue here - http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...aying-for-mods

Otherwise this thread may get merged into that one.
