    Default Modest budget rig - but will it run?

    Hello all!

    I'm desperately keen on MTW2, I really want to recreate the drama of the amazing climatic battle of Brannagh's Henry V - but fear with my set-up it may be more akin to the final battle of Maid Marion & Her Merry Men*.

    Here's my specs...

    2500XP
    1024 ram
    Lots of hard drive space, defragged, kept clean and healthy...
    7600GS 256MB AGP GFX card.

    Any thoughts as to how this will run? All I'm looking for is a 1024x768 res with med/high textures, trilinear, no AA and no/low quality shadows. I think I'll get that, but I'm not sure. Anyone out there got a similar set-up?

    Thanks for your help. This looks to be one of the most atmospheric games ever created. I can barely wait!

    *Maid Marion & Her Merry Men - BBC kids TV show of the 90's where Robin Hood was an effeminate, cowardly yuppie from Islington and Maid Marion was an ex-hockey player and deadly rebel who did all the work and got none of the credit. Very funny and practically as good as Blackadder, with Tony Robinson providing snearing evilness as the Sheriff of Rottingham. Famed for the evil Prince John's army consisting only of two people named Gary and Norman.

    Well it should run well on low/medium settings
    You ask for steak, I bring you fish. You say that you think steak is better than fish. I say that fish is much more popular than steak so obviously it's better. You say that no matter how good the fish is it can't be better at being steak than the actual steak we used to serve. I say that's just your perception and you're entitled to it but you should accept that fish is the future and that's good. You begin to say something but I stab you in the eye with a fork and run into the kitchen.

    I have a:
    2600+
    1Gig RAM
    6600GT

    And I run the game on all high settings (except texture detail (medium), and shadows (lowest)), and have bloom, reflections, and AFx2 on.

    Im sure you could probably get away with something the same? The 7600GS sounds better than the 6600GT....
