To keep things simple the concept I had in mind is: Barbarians (German first and foremost, then later everyone else that isn't Iranian) are able to build their normal military building trees. But if they take over a roman settlement and that settlement has a Roman barracks, they would then be able to convert it into a Romano-Barbarian building tree I would be creating. It would unlock access to roman and romanized units in lieu of currently not being able to do AOR. But I do not want them to be able to build the Romano-Barbarian building tree on their own without converting it from a Roman one.

Since the barbars don't have a specific military tree it might be that I want barbarians to be able to convert a Roman city into a Romano-Barbarian one, but not to be able to upgrade or convert a regular barbarian city into the romano-barbarian one.

My questions are:

  1. Is it possible to dictate specifically what building can convert into a certain building. I know I can dictate what they upgrade into, but I want to make it so a Roman barracks 2 could be converted into either Germanic Barracks T3 or Germano-Roman Barracks T3
    1. Since you can choose upgrade paths it should then be easy to make sure you can never upgrade germanic building T2 into Germano-Roman Barracks T3.
    2. I just have to have a way of restricting the conversion process only for converting a certain Roman building. So if you take a steppe barracks or Persian barracks you can't suddenly make Romano-Germanic barracks.

  2. What table do I need to work with to do so?
