It might not be as a result of winning the battle, but of a trait which has appeared at the same time (eg Lover of Beauty). Or if you've won a string of battles with the odds heavily in your favour, they can sometimes go down.
In any case, besides vanity value, command stars are largely irrelevant for the human player. Unless you like auto-calc'ing a lot of your battles.
Don't Command stars increase the radius at which the general's Chivalry or Dread works? I read that somewhere.
No general of mine ever looses Command stars. They might lose them sometimes, though.
Ok thks, i though, that the number of star determinate the capacity of motivate the troops on battlefield... i was certainly wrong
The reason i like to get a lot of stars is so that i don't need to actually play ever battle once you have a big empire like 400 turns in game... You usually have to fight like 3 battles per turn, and w/o stars you never win vs AI in autoresolve
I have the answers about these command stars :
for example a general with 2 stars because of -> (I didn't know that -> retinue mercernary commander + other retenue getting a star when command infantry)
So when i take a city with this general, i was surprised "loosing" 2 stars. When leaving city with infantry and attacking, i recover these stars..test so ok.
Thanks all, thanks QuintusSertoris
