I have encountered a strange problem within the Stainless steel modification.

I'm experiencing significant framedrops during my battles and for some reason,they are unaffected by visual(graphic quality changes) and game option(unit size) adjustments.I'm using Vista as my operative system.

Well, that's your biggest problem right there. You should really go over to the SS forums for this though, I'm sure you'd be more likely to get a better answer there.

I planned to write Windows Seven,but i made a giant mistake.One more thing,this problem isn't occurring in the vanilla or the Kingdoms expansions,just here.

The game can slow right down if you're sending a lot of troops (or the AI is) through gateways and fighting the defenders defending there.

Problem may be worse if you have multiple armies on battlefield, huge unit sizes etc.

That said I haven't noticed too much of a drop in most battles I've been fighting recently.
Certainly nothing like the crawl that encounter when playing Empire TW.

The higher spec the system the less likely you are to encounter this issue, but I realise that not everyone has the option to upgrade their system.

Well I actually have a decent gaming pc that I bought a few months ago so specs shouldn´t be a problem. And also I get the stutter/framedrops in every battle, not just in sieges and unit sizes or graphics options don´t make a difference.

Yes I update them from GeForce Experience as soon as there is an update.

i also faced the same thing before. In my case, the problem was that i had turned on the "permanent arrows" feature. It really uses a lot of resource as they had advertised in the setup (well, at least a little bit more than my old pc can handle). i played as novgorod and i used a lot of those early horse archres. all those arrows on the ground really really slowed up the game. Fighting a cuman full stack was like watching a slide show.so i switched it off and started a new campaign, and now my battles are working fine.

Yea it does lower my performance too but I have disabled it and started a new campaign and while the battles are smoother and faster than before I still get weird framedrops every now and then
