Skirmisher cav -_-

So here I am playing as the Huns, a whole stack of spear levies attacks me. I'm like alright no problem. Set my skirmisher cav to their flanks, thinking they would react at least closely to how the AI reacts. Big mistake, somehow even with skirmisher mode on the germanic noble general and a few spear levies caught up to very light horsemen with ~100 speed. I thought they would react the same way the AI reacts which is run when you are targeted or when an enemy unit gets to close. I guess thats what I get for trusting skirmisher mode to have been fixed after 10+ years of experience of the same old . Instead the skirmish mode process for the player is just stand there until you get hit by javelins and then get charged.

TLDR;
Frustrated with the skirmisher mode.

I never make full skirmish armies for that reason

Thing is I have about 6 units of levy spears myself to form an anvil and I used lancers and melee cav to break the enemy. Lo and behold I get the our units are wavering msg. My horse archers some how get caught by inf. Makes no sense. They were well behind the enemy line shooting into their backs. I ended up rage quitting.

I wish the Shogun2 Bow Calv ability was in attila (the one where they run around in circles and shoot while moving slowly away from enemies?)

Skirmisher calvs are very underwhelming at times. Sometimes I wish Barbarian skirmishers didnt auto upgrade to skirmisher calvs

The "auto" upgrade of Barbarian Skirmishers to Skirmisher Cav is from utterly useless Germanic Brigands (with 60 missile damage with 4 ammo) to slightly less terrible Germanic Mounted Raiders. Some germanic factions have separate skirmishers/javelin infantry line.
